Re: 2019 Current Events Study Guide

Rafa Nadal won his 4th US Open on Sunday and it was his 19th Grand Slam overall. He’s one behind Federer at 20. The graceless Federer neglected to congratulate Rafa.

I was in Greenland in July & they’re very proud of that park. I own the Folsom prison CD. I could only think of Texas Instruments because of the Dallas TOM. Foley was my best get which gave me my only perfect day so far!

Re: Thursday, July 25, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I’ve always despised the iggles but that FJ was an instaget. At least if Jason answered incorrectly, he named the greatest album of all time. Although Exile On Main Street has nothing to do with California. I’ve been traveling all over this summer, including Oslo wherein we went into The Big Lebowsk...

Re: Millionaire 2018-19 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

Eugene was hard to watch. It does seem unfair to bring back players who previously blew it. I’ve enjoyed this show intermittently over the years except for that year with Terry Crews. Let’s hope Mental Samurai sticks around!

I went to tcona in 2015, 2017, and 2018 but I’ve got a Caribbean cruise planned this year. I will miss it and I hope to go there next year. Vegas in August is tough but it’s worth the trip.

Re: Fun with Fox's "Mental Samurai"

Two head scratching loses in Episode 3 One contestant gave up because they didn't know who the third photo was to get his initials. You didn't have to know that one the first two were enough, I only know one U.S. capital that starts with "ALBA" Another spent the entire time on his second question, ...

That FJ kills my streak of about 3 weeks. Most of the ones I answered correctly were WECIB for me but I realized that’s not the case for others. I guessed LLF like that brit. I’m glad Steven is returning. That was a great story about running into Aaron!

It took me about then seconds to get his name. I could only think of Marshall & Taney for 19th century Chief Justices So then I went to fish & luckily salmon came early, right after trout! I did look at Chase’s Wikipedia page & he had 3 wives but it doesn’t go into detail. I knew he was on the big b...

That was tough to watch! I was rooting for the lady from the Bronx but those were two hamstrung challengers. Easy FJ. WECIB? Tons of LT but I don’t take notes.

I knew it had to be a recent prez and, as above, I ruled out Bush and Johnson since it looked like a single name. Clinton seemed obvious & as I went backwards I knew it wouldn’t be any of the last ten.

Have any other people gone from Thousandaire to the main game? That was weird to see him again.

Re: Tuesday, March 5, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I love seeing Brad beat Ken again!!! And it’s great to see how awesome Larissa is again. Slightly tougher board today but simple FJ. At pub trivia tonight we had a question about the longevity of some tv shows & I mentioned J at 35. To be honest, I knew the answer from the numbered amendments. Would...

Re: LL80: LearnedLeague

I literally answered the clue of Young British Artists based on the last sentence of the clue. I’d never heard the term but I knew Cornelia Parker did that installation with Tilda Swindon & I think she was young when she did it. This is my first time in an A Rundle.

Welp, that was BRUTAL to watch. The questions over the course of this tourney don’t seem harder than everyday play & FJ was incredibly easy. I hope the Final is a marked improvement. I’m sorry to see Roger & Alex go but I do like Pam’s game. She knows stuff I don’t know.

Re: Thursday, February 21, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I missed what the category was beforehand but I’d have bet it all. I was just reading an article about Djibouti yesterday so that didn’t hurt since it included a map with Somalia on it. I didn’t read the FJ clue very carefully (I was playing HQ while watching!) so I missed the part about “7 letters”...

Re: for Survivor talk

Once again, they vote off the old person. I like quite a few of the contestants so far & I was rooting for Reem to stay. I hope none of the four returnees wins this season. I don’t mind seasons of all returnees but it seems unfair to mix them with rubes.

Elevated clue difficulty? Outside of that Triple Rhyme Time category I thought it was a mundane game. I’m rooting for Brad & Larissa the most. I just wish they had some other people from the past up there instead of some of the folks up there.

Re: 2019 Current Events Study Guide

In re the A380, most jets are below 300,000 gross takeoff weight. The B747, DC-10 etc were over that which made them “heavy.” The A380 weighed so much that it was referred to as “super” and ATC had to provide extra spacing behind it. You would NOT want to be in a C210 behind DLH25 Super! I’ve flown ...
