Re: LL68: For the LLamas

Yes, so don't talk about them at all. But I believe it's okay to admit you did horribly , which I did. First time jitters. Eeek. Even that is not a good idea. If your opponent reads this (and believes you), then he or she may assume that it is not necessary to agonize over assigning defensive point...

I got negged on another trivia platform for writing the female Australian Prime Minister "Julia Gillard" as "Julia Girard". These near misses are killing me.

Re: Winter 2016 LL ML and 1DS thread

I had just finished reading about Mecca as well, on the weekend I found myself wondering how the "no Muslims in Mecca" rule is enforced, and looked around. I didn't quite get my answer (in fact, I found several sites that claim it isn't the case at all, non-Muslim tourists, they claim, are free to ...

Re: Winter 2016 LL ML and 1DS thread

Talking about throwing off DEs, my only miss yesterday was the temperature question. Looking at the photo of the thermometer, it sure looked to me like there was a space between the 111 and the top of the "Mercury". I solved the problem for 110 only to find out that it was 111 after all. I really d...

I am surprised that this was the Sheep here. Not surprised that there is some overlap with those that also went with Goose Gossage.

I'm in Group 6. No Boardies there that I know of. I do have a rematch with someone I played during my Rookie season. I'm in Group 89. My first match tomorrow is against a cRia who went 24-1 with 130 TCA. I'm playing against either one of the great trivia minds of our time or...something else....

I just want to repeat what others have said on this board. Good job Heels. You represented the JBoard well. It's good to see someone who was on the Board before they were on a show.

LL67 - Podcast Recommendations I'm a big fan of listening to podcasts, so I thought that I would put together a list of links to 10 podcasts that are directly related to the questions/answers from the LL67 Season. Here they are, enjoy: http://www.achievement.org/autodoc/podcasts/artpodvid-5-momaday...

Yup, one of the best players never to have won a grand slam singles title.
If you don't count the two Australian Opens she's won.
You are right. I forgot that the question specified the U.S. Open only.

The most common wrong answer on the picture of whom I assume to be Andres Cantor is (per the site) "football (American)." That makes me wonder how responses of "football" were handled. edit: oh, Thorsten addressed this. http://learnedleague.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&p=66152 "Football" got credit for p...

Re: TD 272 - Tom Enchanted Evening (General Knowledge) *NOW OPEN*

I second Randy's thoughts on this one. It's tough to discuss this with out getting specific. I already submitted my answers.

I think the crux here is general retailers that sell everything (names which we are all familiar with) vs. those retailers that specialize in clothing only.

Got FJ after 3 seconds and remembering "Good Night and Good Luck" which Clooney directed. :) Oscars is pretty wheelhouse for me so I thought that if I was in the 2nd or 3rd place position it would be very tempting to go big. Maybe she'll get some flack for it, but I'm glad that Julie went big in FJ,...

Well, it's not a Pixar film, but I certainly thought so given that it was from Disney and the marketing certainly tied Planes to Cars.
