Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

Also, did anyone else get gazpacho because of The Simpsons? Did anyone else get gazpacho from Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown ? Did anyone else's mother put leftover salad in a blender and serve it as gazpacho? For me it was that Samuel L. Jackson IPhone commercial from a few years ago. H...

Re: Sports Jeopardy! EP. 9 (11-18-15) [Spoilers]

Funny, by chance I answered 7 NASCAR related questions correctly today. Five were from this game. One was from an Alpaca Farm Trivia quiz. And the last one was that Daytona 500 Daily Double from today's TOC final. :D

Re: LL67 (For the LLamas Among Us)

I was a tad shocked at the high get rate for Just Do It. Is that a well-known trivia nugget, or was there a path to it that I didn't see? In retrospect, it makes sense, but that ever-suspect information source Wikipedia suggests that it's not even true as his last words were supposedly Dominus Vobi...

Re: Monday, November 16, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Did a pre-call during my commercial break brainstorm. Thought of big European cities that were not capitals and thought of Hamburg. I also remembered that the Beatles got there start in their early days playing gigs in Hamburg and how that might make an interesting TOM for future clues. Thus when th...

Re: TD 268: Choose Your Own Multiplier

As a golf history buff, I really enjoyed Question #2. I'm a Jason Dufner fan, I like his laid back style. Glad to see I got a Singleton here. :) Good job to the others who got Singletons on this one. The Mark Hayes get by 9021amyers was a good get, from what I remember from one of my hosted TDs, 902...

Re: TD 267: Once Around the Monopoly Board [Results/Standings Through Question 5

PAINFUL INCORRECT ANSWERS (-200 points) WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? - Magna, Ryno. Won the Tony for Best Play. The Pulitzer jury recommended it, but the board rejected the recommendation due to the play's perceived vulgarity, so no award was given that year. Speak of prompting vulgarity. :x Jus...

Thanks for the fun game Luminosityfan. Now, I'm a bigger fan of Weird Al. :D I debated entering this one because I wasn't sure how to play a few of the questions. Glad that I entered.

Not sure if Sports J! done anything like this before, but I thought that this would be a fun and challenging category. Re: Tuesday, October 13, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I've heard of Allen Ginsberg and "Howl", but I've somehow managed to go this long without knowing that Allen Ginsberg was gay and "Howl" had anything to do with sex. So, I take it you heard about "Howl" generally but had not read it. It was very explicit for it's time and still is. There was the bi...

Re: Sports Jeopardy! EP. 3 (10-07-15) [Spoilers]

Last name is fine, as long as it's not something like Smith or Jones that would require you to be more specific. I know one contest said Lewis when they were looking for Lennox Lewis in this past episode, but they gave you the guy's initials, so you had to have both. I said Cantor and got credit fo...

Just throwing this question out to the peanut gallery. Are first names required for responses in Sports Jeopardy! or is the last name only OK? (e.g. "Montana" or "Joe Montana")

Re: LLML: '80s Music (fall 2015)

Well, I'm not in LL yet, but this is one I definitely wish I could be in. Following along, reading the questions on the website. I went 5 for 6. That first one got me. Yep, Rick Rolled. I totally thought of A-Ha's "Take on Me". Now, that I think about it that was from 86 not 87. Me too! Edit to add...

Re: TD 264: "Weird Al" Yankovic

Question about #9. What counts as a historical event? Does it have to be something broad and major, or can it be specific and less obvious? Hard to ask this without giving anything away.

Great game all-around. Greg did a great job just to prevent the lock from Matt.

Not much trash left, but I can thank the fact that I'm a big Neve Campbell fan that I got at least one.
