Re: LL83: Learned League

I had nothing better than isosceles, which I’d only ever seen in the context of triangles Math is my strongest category and this was still an educated guess for me — I figured if you extended the non-parallel sides, you'd get an isosceles triangle. Normally I'll stick 3 on any math question I'm uns...

Re: Long-standing Jeopardy Traditions That We haven't seen in a long time

There seem to be less opera, Shakespeare, Those Darn Etruscans, and Potent Potables categories than there used to be. is that a bad thing? doesn't seem like less shakespeare to me...seems there is a category every week involving that...too much bible imo...need to do away with that since this is a ...

Re: Wednesday, November 27, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

What was the TOM for Stevie Nicks or Afghanistan in the top box? I saw "name that sounds like Rihanna" and guessed that, and then "total word salad abuot war that I couldn't make heads or tails of". Rhiannon is a Fleetwood Mac song. i am with the hammer dude...never heard of it...i try not to bothe...

Re: Wednesday, November 27, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

The GET "IN" category had me wondering about some possible alternate responses. $200: A basketball pass toward the court Inbound was the correct response though I can see someone having "throw in" as there is no one-word requirement. $400: First in a series, or relating to an official induction cer...

Re: Final Jeopardy! Clues

I can't find exact numbers or verification but it is tease-out-able so this is kind of a "just for fun" trivia question: This division I college football team has been accused of unfairly benefiting from its average player age consistently being much older than other schools. What is BYU? BYU does ...

Re: Tuesday, November 26, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

They're definitely clipping responses. For the DPI clue, I could see Julie's mouth moving, saying "What is...", but the audio only caught "inch" clearly. Hey, if it gets 61 clues in a game, I'm all for it. This is a sincere question: If they're clipping only the audio, and you can see the mouth mov...

Re: Tuesday, November 26, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

This was a well phrased FJ. Otherwise I might have said "New Dealio", which is much more marketable. FDR wasn't as media savvy as people think. I do enjoy this show much more without juggernaut players. Who wants to watch the Ravens destroy the Rams in the first quarter? Patriots, maybe :). Watch o...

Re: Monday, November 25, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

It can mean to measure body heat but idiomatically, it means to survey the attitudes of a group of people I have literally never heard "take temperature" in the "survey the attitudes" context mentioned in this clue. Was this unfamiliar to anyone else too? you sure do love the word "literally"...why...

Did anyone else laugh at the eventual champ saying "fortune favors the bold" on her daily double, and then NOT making it a true daily double? Oh, how bold.

(The Mariah Carey song was my only miss. She has had many, many hits.) I'd hit that.  Elise's lack of gameplay skills caught up with her. Her Coryat was much higher than the eventual winner, but not hunting DD's and making sub-optimal wagers let one with lesser knowledge and/or buzzer ...

Re: Techniques for Memorizing and Reinforcing Trivial Facts

I remember SPA for Socrates, Plato, Aristotle (earliest to latest)... or SPAA if you include Alexander the Great. This has come in handy lots of times. never thought about SPA...i just remember it as being reverse alphabetical order...SPA would be easier to...the 3 geezer philosophers hitting the SPA
