Re: Learned League 73 - Official Thread

I love this TV minileague - I recognize now that it might just be me, but all of it is very in my wheelhouse as someone who reads (and tries to watch) a lot about this era of TV. I didn't realize most people don't keep track of tv creators like they would authors - if someone whose show I like comes...

Re: Learned League 73 - Official Thread

Heading back down to D Horizon D next year after failing to earn the single point that would have saved me in any of my last three games. I guess this season just wasn't meant to be - I lost on Friday to someone who was 2-35 on classical music beforehand but knew Fleming. Ah well.

Re: Learned League 73 - Official Thread

Coin flip between Malta and Cyprus came up wrong, and I lost to a fellow relegation-fighter 9(6) - 6(5). One point out of relegation with two points to go is not where I wanted to be, so hoping for a strong (or lucky) last couple days.

Re: Learned League 73 - Official Thread

The "covfefe" question proves that Thorsten does have a sense of humor. Now we know that he doesn't write all the questions before the season starts. I ended my four-game losing streak yesterday, and get to play quarterrican for the seventh time today. I haven't faced anyone else more than six time...

The sunscreen question was considered Lifestyle? Ok then.
I got it right, so I guess the commish decided it couldn't possibly be Science.

Re: Learned League 73 - Official Thread

Got hit with my first RTFQ of the season after answering Seattle instead of the horse's name - only hurt my pride and my opponent's defense since it was assigned zero, but still a stupid mistake to make. So far my daily correct answers have been yo-yoing like mad but hoping to settle down and find a...

Re: Learned League 72 - Official Thread

Missed out on the 20th Century Fiction final by one point. Wasn't as close in the other two minileagues, but I think all three were really fun this offseason. Also got to pat myself on the back for getting Memphis right in JI: Maps when it only had a 4% get rate across the league. Looking forward to...

Re: Learned League 72 - Official Thread

The only personal record set this season for me was ties, which came up a lot - 7 in all. 9-9-7 seems about right for an uneven season where I started strong, dropped hard, picked it back up, and then hit some bumps again on the back stretch. After a brutal season last year by both competition and T...

Re: LL71: For The LLamas

Not my season - relegated back down to C (thankfully) with career lows in TCA and defense. Oh well - on to LL72.

Re: LL71: For The LLamas

Bagged me a lucky Johann yesterday - just threw out a name for Mozart, shrugged off the answer as wrong, looked up Leopold Mozart afterwards, and tada, first name Johann. Since I needed it to nab a tie 6(5) - 6(5), I'll take it!

Re: LL71: For The LLamas

Strange stat for MD1: only one person in my player tracker got Q1 correct despite all but one person being in an A rundle. Yet somehow 49% got that question right overall. Weird, huh? Congrats to Big Daddy Matty on his private rundle victory! Thanks! I had never before gotten an O'Doul's/Dolly Part...

Re: LL71: For The LLamas

The season is all lined up now, and I apparently benefitted from some off-season moves - I finished one spot out of promotion last year but find myself promoted anyway, to B Horizon. I don't expect a long stay but I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Re: LL70: For the LLamas

All in all a very positive season for me. Set a new personal record in TCA, scoring five more than my previous best (last season- trending upwards!), and finished 5th, just outside of promotion (albeit four points away from fourth) in a very competitive C division. Defense took a small step backward...
