Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 1 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)
relatively easy day 2 -- but damn that wine question. (in my defense, you can't expect anyone under 21 to know anything about wine, can you?)

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 1 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)
PARALLEL 2: this one was fairly easy US history. 4: totally blanked on this one and went with a really stupid guess in "high jump". would've been better off just leaving it blank. 6: the only reason I know Blondie is because of my history teacher sophomore year, who used to play it frequently in cla...

Kids/Teens (although I'm doubtful that it'll actually yield anything, but let's do this!)

Anyone gotten a call for TT auditions yet? Seems like adult tests have had crazy turnaround.

Because I have now taken a test, I would like to be reverted to my default rank, whatever that may be.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Online Test Recap & Discussion (Teen), March 15, 2018
I got 35/50. Here's what I missed. 2 scruff (left blank) 14 The Great Gatsby (wrote Puddin'Head Wilson which is nowhere near correct and to be honest I'm not sure how I decided that'd be a good guess. I haven't read Gatsby since 5th grade and don't remember anything from it, so I'm not surprised I g...

Re: Erin Zweiner in Time magazine
That makes the second J! champ running for office this cycle, I believe -- Richard Cordray is running for Governor of Ohio. Dave Belote was also running in VA's 2nd district (and had a darn good chance of winning), but unfortunately dropped out.

I had The Power of Positive Thinking for some weird reason. Don't recall who that was written by now, however

Re: Tuesday, September 12, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
I'm curious if anyone guessed Bono for FJ because that is a really good wrong answer. U2 is the only act other than Adele to win each of those awards twice; however, their first Album of the Year came in 1988 (all of the other wins were since 2001). As a big fan of U2 myself, Bono did cross my mind...

Re: Tuesday, September 12, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
Weak clues tonight. Charlie Chaplin in Great Dictator as a DD, Voltaire at 1600, and Byron at 2000 was just pitiful. Coryat today was 19600. 6400 at J, 13200 in DJ, and as expected all 3 DDs were correct. Took me a while to get to Adele for FJ (for some reason I was thinking of Kanye, Jay-Z, and Bru...

Re: Monday, September 11, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
(Slightly OT: Anyone using the J-Scorer app promoted on these boards: is the Stats page broken for you too?) Stats is working for me. I was somewhat disappointed with the Back in Black category. Seemed a bit too easy for me. Coryat today was 18000, 5200 in Round 1, and 12800 during Round 2. I misse...

Re: J! Scorer - A Coryat calculator and stat tracker
Cheers Steve for this great tool of yours. I personally find it a bit tedious to keep Coryats by hand so I end up just using a regular scorer to play along. Previously I hadn't seen a Coryat scorekeeping tool anywhere so avoided it until then. But this will certainly be useful for when Monday rolls ...

I just wanted to commend you guys on the incredible work you all have done building this fantastic resource up. I use j-archive clues to study for quiz bowl, and it's been a big help. If there's any way I can support the work, monetarily or morally, please don't hesitate to ask.

Re: 2017 Current Events Study Guide
Every time I click back to Billboard.com, it plays a little snippet of Despacito, which until today I had head exactly none of. Interesting story: At the global leadership conference I was at this summer, every night we had a thing called "scholar networking" basically where we all gathered in the ...
