As I learned it: “Alice Algae and Freddy Fungus took a 'lichen' to each other and now their marriage is on the rocks (they often grow there) because she’s driving him up a tree (found there too).”

Re: Friday, January 20, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I didn't know "fourth street" was a term in Texas Hold'em. Is that used more commonly in different locations? I wonder if they would have accepted "turn street" since there is probably a street called that somewhere. Same here. I've always heard the community cards called the flop, turn, and river;...

Re: Thursday, January 19, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

The DD in DATE FOR THE INAUGURATION was way too easy for the $2000 spot. That was Kid's Week material. I got the month of March from an article I read just today in the NY Times, otherwise I would have had no idea. The picture of the dancing couple led me nowhere. Was the same image used for the fi...

Re: Thursday, January 19, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

This game finally broke my FJ drought. Considered Braque and Duchamp, but none of the subjects in their paintings I could recall looked enough like humans to relate to the quote. This seemed to fit the clue much better. I was bemused when the players powered through the MARRIED category; I like to t...

Re: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I also went with Annapolis on FJ, my reasoning being that the seventh state (Maryland) ratifying meant that a majority of the original Thirteen Colonies had ratified the Constitution. I knew Delaware was the first state, as I collected the state quarters as a kid, but that never crossed my mind as a...

Re: Tuesday, January 17, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I wasn't a fan of the Odd Combined Responses category. Normally, I like the quirky final categories (Before and After is near and dear to my heart), but this category seemed unnecessarily abstruse. I was pleasantly surprised to see the players move speedily through both boards, though; this felt lik...

Re: Monday, January 16, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Not sure why Eli went with Rwanda unless it was a matter of having to put something down. Haven't seen the episode yet (it's still light out on the West Coast), but I'll admit I went with the Rwanda Genocide when I saw the FJ! clue on the NYTimes Clue of the Day. I don't know if hearing the list re...

Most of you did quite well. There were a few wrong answers. I assure you, I was NOT trying to be tricky. I will leave time between this and the next question so you can plead your case if marked incorrect though :D WRONG — 14 points BigDaddyMatty: cioppino http://imgur.com/FP3AKy4s.jpeg Bouillabais...

Re: Wednesday, January 11, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Most brutal game for me in a while. J! round was passable and it all fell apart in DJ!--glad I wasn't behind a podium for this game. The Bold & Beautiful category will no doubt be entertaining should I re-watch this episode, but I had a hard time staying focused while trying to play along. For FJ!, ...

Re: Tuesday, January 10, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I can't even name all the Beatles in 30 seconds, so for me, this FJ was a goner from the start. At least I would've known when the category popped up to bet $0, had I been on this episode. That said, when I saw Blair's wager: :?:  :? . Especially when she looked so happy before they revealed ...

Re: Monday, January 9, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I was certain something relating to the Brazilian steakhouse would appear as a $400 or $800 question. I was surprised to see that it was a 2000 dollar question but I think in terms of difficulty it was right. Brazil's one of the few international destinations I've visited, so I was pleasantly surpr...

Re: Post here if you're looking for a TD editor or co-host

I'm currently writing my first TD (theme: Chinese New Year). I'd love to have someone with experience take a look once I'm done writing. Please let me know if you're able and willing to be an editor. Thanks!

Thought of John Nash immediately but couldn't remember if A Beautiful Mind had won a Best Picture Oscar. Couldn't think of anyone else, though, so I stuck with Nash.

Titan & Narnia were instagets; I had no idea on the other two.

Re: Friday, December 23, 2016 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

New to JBoard, but not new to watching Jeopardy. I'm glad I've found others who share my interest (dare I say obsession) with the show. :)

Did anyone else notice Molly mashing her signaling device? I don't remember seeing any contestant go at it that intensely before.
