Re: Pet Intellectual Peeves

OK, so how many of you are bothered by the title of this movie?

Was that your Bonneville parked in the driveway?

I always get Rob Lowe and Robert Downey Jr. mixed up. That's what I get for watching Ally McBeal.

Surely you're not arguing that width x height does not equal area?
I could respond with a circular argument, or even a triangular one.

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

Speaking of multiplying, twice now I have gone to a local grocery store to return bottles (5 cent deposit), and the cashier counts the bottles, then whips out a calculator to see how much I am owed! Maybe it's a store rule they have to do this (I really hope so).

Well, I didn't know the fern was associated with NZ. I like the unfolding frond one - maybe add some fractals. The mountain one would become known as the Mt. Doom flag. Add a picture of the One Ring and we're done.

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

Please do. I'm curious what your rationale is for this. Square miles and mi^2 are exactly the same as far as I know. Ok, so miles squared is miles times miles, right? So explain how multiplying 2 one-dimensional measurements results in a 2-dimensional measurement. Going one step further, multiplyin...

Would you trust a web page that contains this sentence: "A Small platform on which a person may stand on to been by an audience, as when making a speech or conducting an orchestra."

Miles squared is not the same as square miles.
Wrong.

Good question. It appears to be one. There is a revival of old-fashioned barber shops in this area, although this one appears to have been around for many years.

Re: LL66 (For the LLamas)

I woke up knowing full well that, with my embarrassing misses, I was sure to go up in flames, only to find that my opponent forfeited. Okay then. I was surprised so many missed Pandora's Box. I thought it was a gimme and gave it a 0, although I will admit that I don't always have the best idea of w...

4 right is usually enough to win in D Rundle. Apologies to tjconn728, for whom it wasn't yesterday. Unfortunately he ran into three geography questions, one about my son's favorite reading material, and one about British TV (which he wisely zeroed). I missed the one about the OJ trial though. My daughter asked me the other day "so, what's to stop someone from going on the show, deliberately not answering any questions, so they can win $1000?" I honestly had no answer. (But then y'all know my thoughts about second and third prizes anyways) I don't know but I hope he is on the same episod...

I was worried order would matter for the Huntley-Brinkley clue. It didn't (and got me 3 points!). Loretta Lynn was a total guess, almost went with Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash.
