Re: TD 395 - KIRSTEN DUNST (FIRST 4 Q REVEALED)

... I should have known. "Agnew," after all, derives, according to some, from the French "agneaux," which means ... well, anyway. :(

Re: Monday, September 24, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

John Boy: Your point is certainly well-taken. However, if George VI (following George III's reign of 60 years) is the correct response, doesn't that invalidate the logic that gets a contestant to the correct response? The logic goes: Charles has been PoW for so long because his mum has been queen t...

Re: Monday, September 24, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I wonder sometimes -- if a video clue is left covered, could/would/do they recycle the unused clue at a later date (say, in a potpourri category)? Or would there be some reason why that wouldn't be possible (possibility of the clue's content being leaked, for instance)? Regardless, it's quite frustr...

Re: Friday, September 21, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

It was like Kyle just finally ran out of steam but I wonder if the board yeilded less than favorable categories for him. If so, he wouldn’t be alone. Bible and TV are my very weakest common categories, and to be confronted with both in DJ is the one scenario I dread happening under the lights. Of c...

Re: Wednesday, September 19, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

My thoughts on FJ align with the discussion above. I quickly wrote down the correct answer and spent the rest of the think music trying to talk myself into/out of pivoting to Sam Adams, Paul Revere (yes, that “forged” TOM was tempting) or Thomas Paine, but ultimately stuck to my guns. 3/3 for the we...

I wonder if Robinson Ca-ruso is a common enough alternate pronunciation that it’s iffy to neg... I know I’ve heard it referred to that way multiple times in the past. In fact, I was recently assigned that book as summer reading for my Master’s program, and just last week a peer mentioned that a frie...

Re: Jeopardy All-Star Games

I see Arthur Chu's absence has already been discussed. I really hope he declined rather than was not invited, because it's a real slight if it's the latter. Right. I say this as someone who can definitely be rubbed the wrong way by Arthur’s personality and politics — I hope this was his decision, b...
