Re: Boardie Poll About Taking The Test

Took the test many times in Atlantic City at Merv Griffin's Resorts in the 90's. Have taken and passed every year since at least 2013. Last test I took was in 2018 and I finally got called to audition in Philadelphia in September of 2018, thus (in theory) being in the pool until just a few days ago ...

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

For a Wheel of Fortune champion, you're surprisingly inept at completing phrases. I shouldn't have to do THAT DEEP of a mental dig in the top box. Silver Spring is what, the 100,000th most populous city in Maryland? Probably not even in the top 100 of ways to complete "Silver ____". Your reasoning ...

Ran Good Choice, 4/5 in Men, You (overthought "fraternity") and Desert (didn't realize Australia had deserts).
Not only does it HAVE deserts, fully 35% of the continent is covered in true desert, and another 35% is semi-arid.

Some notes: Tim Horton’s was not my anticipated response but I see no reason to count it wrong as I did not pin the question for solely burgers. I will be scoring Tim Horton's separately from the In-N-Out crowd. I toyed with the idea of going with Tim Horton's because I love me some Timbits! In the...

Re: J! to Tape Without Live Audience

Aren't the auditions typically a fairly small number of people? I thought I heard the number 21, so you could have 7 groups of 3 Exactly 20 in my audition group. Actually, there were 40 but they broke us into two separate groups. In the mock gameplay, one person got to play twice to make 7 groups o...

See, for me, the Pavlovian B. J. Thomas song is "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song".
Mine is the original recording of "Hooked on a Feeling" - before several others ruined it with that silly "Ooga Chaka" nonsense.

That goalie clue was bad. 1) They asked for a player, not a position and 2) not that we'll ever know, but I wonder if they would have taken "keeper" or "goalkeeper". The book's title uses "Goalie". I almost never hear them called a goalie. I wouldn't have taken goalkeeper. The clue specifically ask...

I'll be the first to grouse that "Brass in Pocket" isn't followed by a parenthetical "(I'm Special)" on any release of the first Pretenders album that I've ever seen. Seconded. With all of the famous rock songs that use parentheticals in their titles, they could easily have used one where this wasn...

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)

I don’t follow the Oscars so a lot of them are NHO for me. But that’s my choice. I know that keeps me from getting a lot of movie clues right and that’s on me. If I ever get the call I will look over lists of recent winners. I do a lot better on older movies. I guess after a while some pictures fal...
