I just realized that this season was my 4th consecutive in rundle B, and that was my longest streak at the same level in my 27-season LL career. Now let's see if I can top that by surviving the next 5 seasons in A.
Good luck!

I will call hubris on Eric making that Daily Double. Getting it right would not have put the game away for him, but getting it wrong nearly made the game a free-for-all.
So now it's hubris not to bet enough?
Hubris could literally be anything.

Re: LL83: Learned League

Or does Thorsten create ghost players when he has an odd number of players in a rundle? That does sound vaguely familiar. I got promoted back to A Taiga, though I couldn't possibly tell you how. I finished 11-6-8 with a rather underwhelming 84 TCA and 22 points below my QPct. That was only 13th bes...

Re: Friday, December 20, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Surprised to see so many not knowing this work fit the timeframe. It's one where Jeopardy! loves to put the year in clues. http://www.j-archive.com/search.php?search=1902+heart+of+darkness&submit=Search To be fair, it's been mentioned once in 6 1/2 years prior to tonight, so it's not like it's been...

Chrome just gave me a warning saying that I have to change my password due to a data breach on this site. Has anyone else gotten this warning, or is it a false positive?
You just have to change it to literally any password...

It's a false positive.

Re: LL BWA Entries

The entries that made the list are lamer each season. Also, my brazenly targeted attempt of "Amelia Bedelia and Thorsten Integrity" (for the Victoria and Albert Museum question) did not succeed. I gave my votes to Key Your Car, Tax Evasion, and David Byrne, the only ones that made my facial muscles...

I think I did catch some drag racing that involved actual female drivers That's likely the best example of a truly mixed league. You've got the Force sisters (although I think only Brittany is still racing), Erica Enders-Stevens, Alexis deJoria, and of course Cha-Cha Muldowney who have all won race...

Kind of surprised the MCW on Carousel was Oklahoma. My Kosman Koin was between Carousel and State Fair; I couldn't figure which one was more likely to have a barker as a character.
Yep. I had State Fair because of barker.

My 3rd straight tie -- this one the elusive 0(1)-0(1) -- obviously I found yesterday's set very difficult.

Drops me to 5th (the last promotion spot), but I do control my own destiny.

3M was an instaget. An ex-girlfriend of mine was a chemist there and was on the team that developed Scotch-Brite. But how many of you trivia Buffs remember when they were in the board game business?
I still have my copy of Thinking Man's Golf, which is a 3M product, I believe.

Nothing on the whole of page 36 is worth putting on a flashcard.
If there is a 2020 thread, I'll be deleting any and all irrelevant comments to the thread (like arguments -- if you need to argue, do it in PMs).

Carrying over from the cantankerous thread - there was a great nugget buried here: how many sports do woman and men compete against one another? 1) Darts 2) Equestrian events - although the horses should get some of the credit ;). 3) Motor sports 4) ?? Maybe we need to differentiate between gender-...
