Re: Seattle tryouts

My invite email came last Tuesday, 7/26, while I was on vacation in Maine with no email access. Finally saw it Sunday night and sweated through this ominous sentence: Due to overwhelming demand we can only hold your spot for two business days. This morning my audition was confirmed: Thu., Aug. 16 a...

Re: My turn on J!

(2) Tuesday's episode features a contestant doing something you rarely see. The contestant specifically asked if it could be done, and got permission to do so. [And, again, I remind you this has nothing to do with gameplay.] You have wet my appetite for 7:30 tonight. Also, congrats! It's just not t...

Re: A question for the Canadian boardies

It's been many years since I touristed the area, but if you have time for Jasper as well as Banff (it's a fabulous road between) and you're into the tourist thing, try the Columbia Icefield, the tram to Whistler Peak, and the boat ride on Maligne Lake. I enjoyed them all--wow--28 years ago.

Re: FJs for the 7/11/11 week

All instant and correct save Robespierre, who I am abashed to say was an instant miss. My thought process was equally superficial and ineffectual as the contestants'.

Re: Thursday, July 14, 2011 Game Recap & Discussion (SPOILER

Is it Kid's week again? Was wondering the same. An almost unmissable FJ following one of the easiest boards in memory. I was 56/60; clammed on the first hybrid as did the contestants, pending comprehension of the meaning of the category--was it explained at all prior to the revelation of the correc...

Re: Any Northwesterners here? Need Hometown Howdy help.

Being even further Northwest than Reddpen, I'll pipe in here: I'm pretty sure this is an individual shout out, thusly: "Hi, Lenore Thwest." Which explains why an Idahoan might be confused for a Northwesterner. All just a simple mistake.
