Re: Tuesday, November 11, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Arthur Chu is consistently one of the best players on the buzzers I've seen in my six years of watching the show. There really was no stopping him today and when Andrew hit that snag at the very end of the J! round, he seemed to just freeze for the rest of the game. John Pearson ended up with $0 and...

Re: Monday, November 10, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Congratulations to Ben on a smashing performance! One of my better rounds this year, had a coryat of 5200 in the J! round (good by my standards... lol). Not sure about DJ! round. "Cookie cutter" and "Shah Jahan" were on the tip of my tongue. I wonder if they would've accepted "yeti" in lieu of the a...

There are people in the crowd who look like Keith, Jerome, Pam, Cliff and Brad.
I thought I had a good eye. Didn't see Brad until you pointed it out!

Re: 2014 TOC Pre-Taping Rankings, Stats etc.

Tuesday's match will be an all-out war between Andrew and Arthur. I think Andrew could actually take it and Arthur will get in with a wildcard spot. Rani has her work cut out for her.

Re: Thursday, November 6, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Relatively mediocre game for me. I guessed Grand Rapids because of the "grrrrreat" negbait. Don't quite know what I was thinking; maybe it was Grrrrand Rapids when it's cold (like brrrr), or people in Grand Rapids have a proclivity to stuttering? ;) FJ was an instaget. I was nowhere near the Goodyea...

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions Prediction Challenge

You guys need to spice it up with some side bets. What will the value be of the first-picked clue in each game? How many Triple Stumpers will there be in the quarterfinals? Will the Finals feature a rematch of some sort? Will Julia talk about her sweater collection? Well, my answer to those would b...

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions Prediction Challenge

Vijay's regular shows weren't spectacular either, and his impressiveness probably didn't make itself plain to all viewers. Mark Dawson and Alan Bailey also made tremendous improvement between their regular shows and ToCs. This is what concerns me about Arthur Chu in the Tournament of Champions. He ...

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions Prediction Challenge

I wish Carlos Ross had won another game to go into the ToC. He was a great player and his responses were hilarious. Thanks for nearly making me lose my lunch. Oh c'mon, Carlos was over $25k each game except when he lost to Craig Cornish, Jr., who was on one hell of a run in Double Jeopardy!. He may...

Re: Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions Prediction Challenge

This is going to be the best ToC I've ever seen in my five years of watching Jeopardy!, I predict. Arthur's strategy is definitely a "good hard or go home" one, whereas Julia Collins stands a much better chance of getting past QF's, which should be very easy for her. Arthur could have a complete blo...
