NBC is doing an hour long nightly news tonight, so if J! airs on NBC stations right after NBC Nightly News, it gets preempted.

CBS ran longer than announced and didn't get to the show until during the chat segment.

FJ took a few seconds, the picture was zero help. Took a guess and got it right.

The president is getting inaugurated today, so if Jeopardy airs during that telecast, it gets preempted. Who would have thought?

FWIW, NBC gives stations the option to air the 2nd half of the hour long national news on those rare occasions. In the DFW area, the NBC affiliate almost always shows local programming instead.

3 out of the last 6 days Obama has axed Jeopardy. I suppose I could look at the positive side and state I didn't miss a single Jeopardy clue today.

Was there some reason I should have heard of that salad mentioned in the $400 Contents clue?

No guess on FJ. Didn't know that the Titanic was made in Belfast and couldn't think of anything that was -- other than car bombs and I was pretty sure that wasn't it.

Was it a salad? I thought that clue was vichyssoise. I remember tabouleh, Dungeness and arugula also being asked, I think.

As for FJ, I got it, but it helps to have been to Belfast. There it was Titanic, Titanic, Titanic. Apparently bragging about being where an idiotically designed ship was built is better press than the Troubles.

I was actually happy to see the trailing lady win - she had some good gets and I like how she DD hunted. Though if you are going to DD hunt bet more on that South Africa question. But, really, a fine episode all around, with everyone having competitive scores and belonging.

I wonder if the third place player went nearly all in because second place's MSBIW score was higher than her pre-FJ score or just because it was the thing to do?

Interesting and gutsy bet by the leader, almost paid off for him.

The unique architectural design was influenced by several maritime themes, including ice crystals, ships' hulls and the insignia of the White Star Line.

I got FJ by thinking of UK construction, then the 2012 opening date, then the shape of the building.

I have heard of (and eaten) tabouleh, but not Dungeness crab.

Didn't get FJ, though it turns out I did know that fact, once reminded.

I did get the new champ's late-game DD, imaginarily wagering all my money on it. That's a category I would always TDD on, no matter the situation.

That...thing was supposed to remind me of the Titanic? Sure, OK. The only things that came to mind were 'piles of concrete', 'castle', and 'Stonehenge', which didn't get me anywhere, but the contestants' wrong answers made me feel a little better

FJ was an instaget from the date and location. It almost made up for how poorly I did on the Most Populous Countries category. :)

The date! Damn, should have gotten it from the date. I got it anyway, but it was a 28-seconder.

While by no means an instaget, I was able to come up with the boat with plenty of time to spare.

And anybody looking for tonight's game can find it over in the other thread.

This just... wasn't a good day for me. I thought the Titanic was built in Liverpool, so it didn't come to mind.

Today I experienced something I don't normally experience -- a category where I didn't come up with any correct responses.

It was the "Contents of Tables" category.

I've heard of tabbouleh, vichyssoise, Dungeness crab, and arugula. I *may* have heard of the Italian term for something baconlike starting with P that I can't remember right now. But I couldn't have told you anything about ingredients of tabbouleh or vichyssoise. I didn't know Dungeness was a place name in Washington state (despite being from British Columbia), and I didn't know that the Brits have a different name for arugula. (In fact, I'm not sure I even know what arugula looks like.)

I guess this might mean that cuisine is a weak category for me. I could totally see cuisine being a category that people "forget" to study -- we trivia folks tend to concentrate on the "classic" areas like presidents, monarchs, Shakespeare plays, chemical elements, world capitals, Oscars, etc.

21/30 in J!, but my only 5/5 was TV Themes. Desk and Thailand kept me at 4/5 in their categories. Can't believe that I blanked on Zoloft after having once taken it.

5/30 in DJ!

Agree that tabouleh is totally undervalued. More fancy pants food I'm surprised anyone who isn't a gourmet chef knows of.

Totally lost on Most Populous Countries.

Not a guess in FJ! The date did nothing for me, and I couldn't remember where Belfast even was.

Belfast was in Ireland, but, alas, isn't anymore.
