Ben's height

Post by flemmingfan »

Based on the tv shots with other contestants and the positioning of the subjects, how tall do you think Ben is? My guess is 6'41/2".

I would guess he's in the neighborhood of 6'4"-6'5" as well.

Hey, you're awfully close. I'm 6'4'', but if I stand up for long periods of time I'm 6'3''.

Huh, and here I didn't think he was especially tall. (Caveat, I myself am 6'3". I wonder if there'll be a "David's height" thread after I appear ... )

During the post-game conversations, it looked like Ben's male opponent tonight was even taller.

He also somewhat resembles British standup comedian Jimmy Carr.

I'll have to work on growing a few inches if I get "the call".

Maybe buy some platforms? That's the only way I'll clear 6 feet.

I found it really hard to play against really tall players. When I played Joe McNamara in my fourth game, http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=423, I had to stand on two boxes (he was 6-4 and I am 5-6). That made it hard for me to ring in as I could not lean my hands on the podium.

Welcome Mike and best wishes getting the call for the J!DT to represent the middle decade. In the game you linked you "only" had 28R compared to 36 in the next game. Curious how you did in game 3 I could not believe the game was not there in the archive. Why didn't someone tell me? I guess I had never had a chance to look at that game previously. I will try to right that wrong tomorrow assuming I have the game somewhere on tape.

ETA: I found Dupee #1 and #5, but not #3. Darn.

That's why I developed a podium-independent stance in the weeks before I taped. (I have to admit, though, it was more due to knowing I was taping the last week of the season and might last through a set change, since I'm 6'4" and would probably set the pace heightwise.)
