CONTESTANT INTERVIEWS
Alex: 11-year-old John Wilkins is a Shakespeare lover, and in the last two years, you have appeared in how many of Shakespeare's plays?
John!!!: Well, at my school, we have a Shakespeare club after school, and I've done it since fourth grade. So, um... I'm appearing in Hamlet for now.
Alex: All right. Do you have the lead?
John!!!: Yes.
Alex: You do? You play Prince Hamlet?
John!!!: I do. It's a very abbreviated version--
Alex: [Overlapping] --I was gonna say, that's a long--
John!!!: [Overlapping] --so I only have 32 lines--
Alex: --oh, well--
John!!!: --which is still a lot. [Overlapping] Hamlet has like a thousand.
Alex: [Overlapping] Yeah, well--’cause Hamlet is one of the longer roles.
John!!!: Yeah, so, I've done--this is my seventh.
Alex: Okay. Good for you.
John!!!: So, yeah. It's really fun, yeah.
Alex: Acting might be in your future.
John!!!: Maybe.
Alex: Sallie Rawlston from Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. She is our youngest competitor. She's only 10 years old and is a park ranger in eight national parks.
Sallie: Yes, sir.
Alex: How do you get to be a ranger?
Sallie: Well, when you go to specific national parks, there's usually a sign-up in the visitors' center that says, "Become a junior ranger today." And then you go and pick up your booklet, and you go around the park and do the certain activities for your age group and then turn it in at the visitors' center at the end of the day and get your junior ranger badge.
Alex: Sounds like fun. Is it?
Sallie: Yes. It's really fun.
Alex: Well, keep going. I hope you get to go to more national parks.
Alex: Aarin Martinez is from Torrance, California. You write a horoscope column for your school paper?
Aarin: Yes.
Alex: Do you emphasize any particular area? What's it based on?
Aarin: Well, it has to be school-related.
Alex: Ah.
Aarin: So sometimes I look up personalities of each sign, and I try to make up something that would go along with what the person would do.
Alex: Okay. What's your sign?
Aarin: Aries.
Alex: Okay. I'm a Cancer/Leo.
SCORES AT THE END OF THE JEOPARDY! ROUND
John!!!: $9,400
Aarin: $6,600
Sallie: $2,000
