Seattle tryouts
First, it is awesome that there are boards again! It has been too long … Anyway, I was just wondering if any of the Seattle hopefuls have received their email invites yet. I did the West Coast test and got 39/40 out of 50, I believe, so I am anticipating said invite, although it seems like time is fast running out (don't they start taping in early August?). Last time in Seattle, the audition was in mid-May, so I have no clue what the schedule is this time.
Would love to hear from all you West Coasters!

Re: Seattle tryouts
My brother got his today. He had to decline an SLC invite due to a conflict, which doubly sucked since he lives in SLC. They asked him if he'd be available for Seattle and he'd said yes, and was all but ready to give up hearing back! (SLC invite was in early March)

Re: Seattle tryouts
Just wondering if anyone has received word back from their RSVPs yet. Last time, the info came back pretty quick, but it's been three days and I'm wondering if my email got lost in the ether …

Never mind! Just got my RSVP response — same place as last time. See you there!

Re: Seattle tryouts
Any plans for a boardie meet-up around the auditions? As it happens, I'll be in Seattle that week.

Re: Seattle tryouts
My invite email came last Tuesday, 7/26, while I was on vacation in Maine with no email access. Finally saw it Sunday night and sweated through this ominous sentence:
Boardie meetup works for me, TF. Should we find a pub quiz or two to crash? I host one from 8-10 on Mondays in Ballard at the 418 Public House, 418 NW 65th, and go to Molly Maguires down the block each Wednesday at 9.
This morning my audition was confirmed: Thu., Aug. 16 at 3 pm. Mennoknight, I'll see you there. Heisman65, which slot did you get?Due to overwhelming demand we can only hold your spot for two business days.

Congratulations, Bill. Am happy for you and I wish you the best of luck. I say this through gritted teeth...two years running with solid qualifying scores and no audition. I must have REALLY alienated these guys at my last audition in '08. I might be interested in a boardie meetup in Seattle if one is arranged. Let me know.

Re: Seattle tryouts
THIS is why I never like being without any access to email. (I've taken to actually asking at campgrounds if there's wifi access. Yes, I actually have asked.)
Congrats, Bill! Knock em dead!

Re: Seattle tryouts
Congrats and good luck, Bill! (Is there an audition story in there?) I land in Seattle late that Monday, and will be going to the Jays game on Wednesday, but will be in town for a couple weeks, so will definitely have to make it out to a quiz or two. It seems that those places aren't far from where I'll be staying.reddpen wrote: This morning my audition was confirmed: Thu., Aug. 16 at 3 pm. Mennoknight, I'll see you there. Re: Seattle tryouts
Funny, I, too, will be attending a Blue Jays game (Tuesday night), TF. It's always a hoot, as the Canadian fans like ourselves are always good and loud. Love me some Safeco. My audition slot is 9 a.m. on the Tuesday, so I don't know about a night out the Monday before. I was planning on making an early night of it. Tuesday's the ballgame and we head home Wednesday. Sorry. Maybe we all can share a drink (or two) in Los Angeles … Good luck all, and if you see a big guy with glasses and spiky hair at the 9 a.m auditions, that's me.

Yeah, my family, with a 1 1/2 year old included, is coming with me - so I won't be heading out to any pubs. We'll be hitting up the EMP/Sci-Fi museum and making our yearly pilgrimage to Dick's on Broadway.
I eat chicken. That's what I do.

Re: Seattle tryouts
Probably too late now, but if other boardies want to meet up in Seattle, you can reach me at bpenrose@ that email service run by Google.
bomtr, I'm sorry they didn't ask you to audition this time. Having not had the chance since 2007, I'm very much in sympathy. If you're in town tonight or any Monday, come by the pub at 418 NW 65th St. (8-10 pm) for 20 questions and comradely commiseration--offer open to all.
My friend Will Jackson is also auditioning in the 9 am slot tomorrow.
TF, where are you staying? My team tends to finish in second place at Molly Maguires (610 NW 65th) on Wednesdays at 9 pm--maybe you can put us over the top. How strong are you on Africa?

Did I not already reply in this thread? Many congratulations, Bill! Knock 'em dead. I know that you have the anecdotes (heck, you've met enough famous people for a 10-day run). Just don't end up in my taping group, mmkay?

Re: Seattle tryouts
'Twas a pleasure to meet the boardies present at the 3PM audition yesterday, and thanks to the fellow who tipped me off to the existence of this resurrected board! Good luck, all! I hope to see you all on the show, just not at my taping week(s)!
