I know I'm bumping this thread after a long period of dormancy, but reading through this thread as an adult and seeing how stiff the competition is with respect to how badly people to be on the show is kinda intimidating. As in, before they switched auditions to Zoom, many people were taking a number of overnight trips over a period of years just to get to auditions. It seems like at that rate, when a CC asked you what you would want to do with the money you won, the only correct answer would be "I'm not doing this for the money. If that was my goal, I would have put the money I spent traveling to this audition in an index fund." But the CCs probably wouldn't want to hear that...
