Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
Had my audition in Chicago today and had a blast. The staff did a great job making me/us feel less nervous and it really was super fun and exciting. It was worth the trip out whether or not I ever end up getting the call.

That's pretty much how I felt. I think I could have done better at my last audition, but it was really fun anyway.

I had my audition in Pittsburgh last week and had a blast! Now I'm hoping I get on the show even more, because if the audition was that much fun, I can't even imagine how great it would be to do the real thing!

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
Hey, newbie here.
I got my first audition invite July 21. I had the audition in Chicago yesterday (8/15) afternoon. I was apprehensive but it turned out to be fun, the drive down to Chicago and back was a nightmare but it was worth it.
The group was 20 people with one no show. Everyone seemed friendly and there was a lot of interaction both before and after. I think I did well on the test and didn't freeze up during the practice game.

Thanks Kelly!
Had 22 in my group, and everyone would make a good contestant. I've heard some of the veterans talk about Maggie in the past, but I had no idea how manic she was until I met her in person. This is my first time in the pool, and well worth the experience.

Do you happen to know your online test score?Panfer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:57 pm Hey, newbie here.

Also, can you remember how many men vs women were in your group?
Total game show career losings = $171,522

I think the group was 12 men 8 women. One missing named Erin or Aaron. So...

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
I just finished in Denver too.
Some stats about my group:
•16 people (or maybe it was 19?)
•I think there were 4 women among us
•My June online test score was 40, but today's was probably worse (I can recall ten twelve misses and 25 gets)
my first time auditioning, what fun!!!!

Did you just have the one group? I auditioned in Denver in March 2015, and there were about 40-45 total. They did both a morning group and an afternoon group with half in each audition.doitneatly wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:34 pm I just finished in Denver too.

I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

I was there at 2pm, I assumed there was an earlier group, but I never saw or heard anything that confirmed that assumption.AFRET CMS wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:57 pmDid you just have the one group? Oh one thing that struck me as interesting:
At the very end, Maggie gave out two copies of the new Jeopardy! card game. The two winners were chosen based on their test scores. (and sadly, I was not one of them...)

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
That seems to be a new perk ... all we got was a Jeopardy pen.doitneatly wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:40 pm

At the taping, we got a "goodie bag." It was a Jeopardy tote bag, with a Jeopardy baseball cap and another pen in it.

We got the pen at the audition, plus earbuds, and then the taping swag was just as you describe.AFRET CMS wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 5:55 pmThat seems to be a new perk ... all we got was a Jeopardy pen.doitneatly wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:40 pm

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
At our audition they gave out the card games to two random people, not based on test scores. I am pretty happy about that since I was one of the two people selected, which I'm sure would not have been the case if it was test based.doitneatly wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:40 pm Oh one thing that struck me as interesting:

One last tidbit to share - my apologies if this is already well-known - was Maggie's explanation of the numbers:
"75,000 people take the online quiz,
We invite 2,000-3,000 for in-person auditions,
300-400 get called to tape an appearance."

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
The last two of those numbers are pretty close to what I'd heard before, but I didn't have an idea of about how many people took the test.doitneatly wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2017 5:19 pmdoitneatly wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:40 pmAFRET CMS wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:57 pmDid you just have the one group?
