Final Jeopardy! Clues

Post by jeopfansincebirth »

This topic was a popular thread on the Sony Message Boards, but now it's back and better than ever!

Here you can post Final Jeopardy! clues from the past 30 years of the version we know and love today, or the original Art Fleming version, or any English-speaking international version, or you may make up your own.

Clue: 2 of the 3 Best Actress Oscar winners seen in the most retweeted photo of all time

Category: TV REBOOTS

Clue: On March 9, 2014, 10 networks debuted this Seth MacFarlane-produced documentary series that was originally hosted by a Cornell professor

**************
Down the line if the terms remain in usage there could be something about California Democrats being labelled as either a "Labor Democrat" or a "Business Democrat." State law has the two top vote getters in the primary election moving on to the November election no matter party affiliation. In a heavy "blue state" that can mean (D) vs. (D). Fighting in the primary only with a cakewalk in November will have tactics changing and becoming more expensive.

Local TV stations approve this message.

hscer is right about mayors and capitals.

seaborgium is right about the musical. The response to Lefty is below.
Spoiler
Rent did it In 1996. Of Thee I Sing was the first to win the Pulitzer in 1932. The Tony Award for Best Musical didn't exist then.
teapot37 is not quite correct about the sauces, so that's technically still open.
Spoiler
Hollandaise and Tomato are right (I'll accept the spelling). Bernaise is not, it's considered a subset or child of Hollandaise.

I would have said hollandaise, espagnole and bechamel.

The list does vary a little, depending on what is considered traditional, so there are a few other possible answers.

That I can accept. The lists I've seen that have the five traditional ones are Hollandaise, Tomato, Bechamel, Espagnole, and Veloute. That seems to be the current definitions, it has changed over time. However, I stuck with those five because that seemed to be the current contemporary definition, and has lasted quite awhile, from what I understood.

I think that's the most common list, used by Escoffier, and the one I'd expect someone to ask about.
