I would argue that by its five-letter name, it's not "on earth."

Perhaps a rephrase to "One of Earth's most abundant fluids, in English ..."
I kind of liked this clue. Biggest hint I got was
from "fluid," which led me away from "liquid." Spent a moment playing with gasses, but lava/magma came after a few seconds thought.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
