My answer doesn't work by one year - Batman was played by Keaton, Clooney, Kilmer, and Bale in movies with Batman in the title. Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman came out in 2016.
what batman movie came out in 1983?

MOVIES

From 1983-2015, five different actors have played the same character in movies sharing ONLY this word in the title.
SpoilerShow
Terminator? young + old John Connor in T2, and different actor in 3, Salvation, and Genisys?

Yes I think he was clearly going for Vacation. The main issue here is you need to somehow pin the answer in the clue. Mentioning that the 1983 film was the first in the series would be a start, obviously it can be assumed by the wording that 1983 and 2015 are the dates of specific films, but that doesn't necessarily rule out an answer that doesn't meet that criteria.

If you count the 1993 animated feature Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, you've got five with Kevin Conroy.

The question doesn't explicitly require there to have been a movie released in 1983; 1989, 1993, 1995, 1997, and 2005 are all within the specified range.

seems kind of silly, like the not in my kitchen being correct. If the dates didn't matter, why would I name them at all?

Is there better wording to use?

Not a hard one, but...

These three professional sports teams based out of the same state have appeared in four consecutive league championships.

I think you need more specific writing here...the Celtics alone would qualify Massachusetts.

Do you mean in this past year? Different sports? Pro leagues only?

"Professional" would pin it down to pro leagues, though it's difficult to succinctly pin it down exactly. I'm used to Sporcle's "Big Four" convention, which would naturally eliminate minor leagues, etc., but obviously that wouldn't be taken for granted elsewhere.

"Franchises" is what I had in mind and would have been better wording. I'm not referring to finding three different consecutive four year periods for Bill Russell's Celtics.

might want to change "league" since it could convey alcs or nlcs for baseball which isn't the actual overall championship series

Yeah, I had no idea how to pin this well. This isn't what I had in mind at all, but the Giants did win it in 1921-24 while based in New York.

And New York was what I had in mind for the Yankees, the Islanders, and the Bills... so this question isn't salvagable, I fear.

Right, I knew the answer you wanted but was being ornery. The giants would get an asterisk at least as they are based in CA now but were in NY then.

Proving once again I shouldn't post from my phone :(

When going for the leagues you were going for here, I tend to use "four majors" or something like that. Just saying "professional" or "major leagues" leaves the door open to other things such as MLS, minor leagues, the WNBA, etc.

What I was also trying to say is that when you had "four consecutive league championships", what are you asking for:

1. In the past year, there is been a Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, and NHL Finals. Meaning New England, Boston, Washington and Golden State. (which obviously doesn't fit the question, but I'm just trying to interpret the question being asked)

or

2. Do you mean three teams from a single state have been to their respective league championships four straight times at some point in history? (that would sure take a good amount of knowledge to pool together in 30 seconds)
