I'll give you a point for getting the last one. The intent for the 3 point bonus was to get all 5 without help.

I saw #4 within the last year, in a new 35mm print, and I could remember the entire plot but not the title. Very funny, with amazing stunts. Here's the trailer:

I watched it a few months ago on Hulu Plus and I was absolutely blown away how gorgeous the print was.

A day late and a dollar short. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

You evidently know more than the average bear by mentioning London After Midnight, although it isn't among the pictures. Unless a dusty, crumbly print turns up in somebody's basement, that film has unfortunately been lost for the ages. A few years ago a feature-length recreation was produced, built from production stills and titles, and following the shooting script. Interesting idea, but it doesn't quite cut it.

How many hours left?

Image ..... until the March 31st, 3:00pm Pacific deadline.

39 entries, though I still haven't heard from several of the usual suspects. Plenty of sheepy answers still to be had.

The doors have closed with 52 lucky souls trapped inside.

Curious stats:
- At the mid-week lull point there were 26 entrants; another 26 entered after that point.
- 13 entries in the first 24 hours; 13 entries in the last 24 hours.

UPDATE!!! Achhhhhhh.... kitty issues. I'll be away for a couple of hours, so I'll leave the doors open until 5:00pm Pacific.

Woohoo! I got to enter after all! I won't win, but I'll definitely be a spoiler for some of you. All of you frontrunners keep track of how often I add an extra point to one of your answers. You can dream of what might have been if Randy hadn't had kitty issues. My goal is that more than one of you will use my name as a swear word by the end of this game. (Offer only valid for people who don't do this already.)

I am now dying to know the kitty issues even more than the actual reveal... (But don't want to be too nosy if Randy doesn't want to share.) I just hope any involved kitties are ok...

OK, we're really closed this time, with 54 participants.

I'll start posting in about 90 minutes, and should get through 3 questions tonight.

OK, let's get this party started! I'm putting up question 1 now, then I'll get to 2 or 3 more tonight.

The first 35 seconds of the film tell you everything that you need to know here.

1. LOUIS, I THINK THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A BEAUTIFUL QUIZ. Fourteen actors receive on-screen credits in the classic film Casablanca, which pretty much corresponds to all of those that have a role with more than just passing significance. Name one of those 14 actors.

Bonus: Casablanca has arguably the greatest number of memorable quotes of any film in history. It's little wonder then that in 2005 the Writers Guild of America voted Casablanca the greatest screenplay of all time. Name one of the three men credited for the screenplay; last name only is sufficient, even though two of them share the same last name.

Welcome to TD! Sydney Greenstreet ran off to a huge lead, but by the end Bogie had caught up. A fairly steep dual sheep, but nobody got the question wrong. Ingrid Bergman didn't appear in an answer set until well into the match. A couple of nice singletons... and probably two other players who expected, but didn't get, one. Did you notice that you could have centered on Bogart and his films in your first four answers? I think only one player did so.

Bonus: The three screenwriters who collaborated on Casablanca are Howard Koch, Julius J. Epstein and Philip G. Epstein.

• Howard Koch: “The ending of the film was in the air until the very end... I was working every day on the set... I think we never really had the ending for sure... We thought of many possibilities and finally decided on the one that was in the film. That has proven to be the ending that the audience accepts.”

"Made it ma. Top of the World"

2. THIS QUESTION IS ALL ABOUT CHARACTER GIANTS OF THE CINEMA. Name the classic film that featured one of the following principal characters. (Title only; no need to associate with a lettered choice.)

(A) Jett Rink
(B) Benjamin Braddock
(C) Margo Channing
(D) Charlie Allnut
(E) Cody Jarrett
(F) John Lloyd Sullivan
(G) Dr. David Huxley
(H) Sylvia Scarlett
(I) Father Chuck O'Malley
(J) Matthew Harrison Brady
(K) Adam Trask
(L) Joe Gillis
(M) Ransom Stoddard
(N) Richard Blaine

Bonus: Name an actor who played the character that you chose in any theatrically released version of the film.

When I wrote this question, I had forgotten that the character Father Chuck O'Malley appeared in two films, the second a sequel, and played by the same actor in both. So there were 15 possible answers, not 14. Leave it to our esteemed players to show me up. Oh, going with Bogart wasn't a particularly good choice on this question either.

The bonus was claimed by at least one player on every correct answer.

Lots of clues were lurking for this question: Pictures (1) Joe Gillis (William Holden) found face down in the swimming pool in the opening scene of Sunset Boulevard, (2) Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) watching Elaine's marriage ceremony from on high in The Graduate, (3) Jett Rink (James Dean) covered in crude after he strikes oil in Giant. "all about" in the question intro might lead you to All About Eve's Margo Channing (Bette Davis).... and "giant" was in the intro too. And don't forget Sylvia Scarlett (Katharine Hepburn), the lead character in Sylvia Scarlett.

The African Queen, (D) Charlie Allnut (8 pts):
abnormal - Humphrey Bogart (-2 pts)
JeopardyMom - Humphrey Bogart (-2 pts)
Lilac - Humphrey Bogart (-2 pts)
