Wow, I didn't even notice that the World Cup question was missing. I even read Ivan's mention of it, but apparently forgot to go back and look. It looks like the overall scores included question 5, but Vanya just forgot to post the answers for that question.mam418 wrote:Yay! I was so close to the podium! (doing a little fifth place dance.) Though I think Ivan is right... what happened to question 5? (I may regret asking this, if it bumps me down from 5th...)

Re: Think Different 4: Runners-up edition
What really surprises me is that this FJ was a triple stumper. While McKinley might not be as widely known, I would think Lincoln and Nixon would come to mind pretty easily to your typical Jeopardy contestant.barandall800 wrote:I wouldn't flat-out call it "stupid," but it definitely minimized her chances of winning (though it indeed would have maximized her winnings had she got FJ right). Had she wagered to cover, she could have won on a TS or even a get by just her and Mike, but an all-in bet wouldn't get her there in either of those scenarios.cheezguyty wrote:I thought I put this one to rest! If she's playing to maximize her winnings, there's nothing stupid about her FJ wager (also, it was not a crush game).Vanya wrote:Pretty stupid wagers for $200, Alex: This contestant pulled a Clavin with a crush game.

I'd like to appeal the ruling here. The USA lost the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which is in fact "a FIFA World Cup".Vanya wrote:5. Name a country that lost in the final of a FIFA World Cup.

"FIFA World Cup" is generally considered to refer only to the Men's tourney.BigDaddyJ wrote:I'd like to appeal the ruling here. The USA lost the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which is in fact "a FIFA World Cup".Vanya wrote:5. Name a country that lost in the final of a FIFA World Cup.

Re: Think Different 4: Runners-up edition
I believe the wording of the question left some room for interpretation there. The FIFA Women's World Cup is run by FIFA and it is a World Cup, so it is "a" FIFA World Cup, much in the same way that a peanut M&M is an M&M despite the fact that "M&M's" and "Peanut M&M's" are two different product names.econgator wrote:"FIFA World Cup" is generally considered to refer only to the Men's tourney.

Sorry but if I meant to include the women's I would have said so . Econgator is right, too.BigDaddyJ wrote:I believe the wording of the question left some room for interpretation there.
