Should tobacco have gotten a BMS on the cigar clue?

20 out of 47. I didn't see 13 clues because of weather reports regarding tornado warnings in the area (northern/northeast Kentucky), so they interrupted parts of the show. Only Lach trash was "Wendell Willkie". I thought of Dearborn, but changed it to Grosse Pointe Woods. Whiffed on Body Latin, and they combined two of my worst-performing categories (Food in the Bible).
Instaget FJ. Beatles fan, and I have a Billboard No. 1 hits book that I've read in the past, so I remembered which Beatles songs were at the top of the charts, and Help is really catchy.

No, I got it in 25 seconds. Crossed out Hey Jude, which was the only thing in my head for the longest time.floridagator wrote:Sara played very aggressively. I think she is the better player and the Irish champ from Monday was just a weak player.
For most, I think FJ was either an instaget or a stumper. Thinking too hard is the enemy there.

If it had been a #1 it would be thye correct answer, since the title of "Help ' is Help!esrever wrote:The Beatles did record a song named "Girl" but it was not a #1 song. Impressive win against some pretty good competition today. I haven't seen Sara's stats, but she has seemed to have very few negs, which is a big factor in consistently winning.

Sara played quite well, congrats to her, look forward to seeing her tomorrow.
Was it me or did Guy say "Ganni" instead of Gandhi?
FJ was an Instaget for me, surprisingly so for the category.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was happy to see the Michigan category, as well as a Mormon clue for the second day in a row. I was totally lost on Final, though. I could rattle off all the number one singles in the past three years, but old music is not my forte.

No. The clue was prompting for objects ("these"), not what's inside them. A careless miss.Bamaman wrote:Should tobacco have gotten a BMS on the cigar clue?

I was afraid to put the ! down on the paper, like it would make the response too long...I knew that had to be it though...billy pilgrim wrote:If it had been a #1 it would be thye correct answer, since the title of "Help ' is Help!esrever wrote:The Beatles did record a song named "Girl" but it was not a #1 song. This was a pretty enjoyable game. All three contestants had some good gets.
I thought of "Hey Jude" first but got to the correct FJ response after about 5 seconds. I might have been helped by the FJ clue that came up not too long ago that had the album Help! as the correct response. I feel like contestants should be given the caveat that The Beatles and Elvis are the only two pop music acts who might have in depth clues on them come up on the show.

Music/Songs are a huge weakness for me..so when FJ category was revealed I didn't have high hopes. Was very happy that I could at least name a song 'hey jude'...

FJ was a def instaget. And of course, I sang it...
Is it just me, or were the daily doubles in DJ pretty easy? And a lot of the first round seemed like kid's jep questions. Not that I swept the boards by any means, but not as difficult as usual.

Manna and "Playbill" were not difficult and that is fine for DDs in the $1200 box. The boards were on the easier side of things so those clues fit the pattern for tonight. Boston Massacre for the first DD was fine for the $600 box also. I bet my bank the Bible DD was going to be Manna or Locusts & Honey so did a five-figure wad at that point.Pigeon wrote:FJ was a def instaget. And of course, I sang it...

Dearborn and Samsa for me as well plus Mercury. Planetarium was no $200 clue in my book and it would have been awful if someone had tried something like crematorium.
The Beatles is a neutral category for me. I wrote "Help" immediately and could think of no 2-letter or 3-letter songs no matter the artist other than "If" and "Try." I did have time to think about the exclamation point making the title longer than a 4-letter one, but not even "Girl" came to me.
Yeah that Alex is a real funny guy working "help" several times into his speech before going to the responses. Wocka, wocka.

Julia's 2-game Coryat average: 13,800
Sarah's 2-game Coryat average: 17,600
Therefore Sarah is a better player than Julia.

The Mercury Theatre was featured in the movie "Me and Orson Welles" which I have seen, based on a novel with the same name.
