Cooper: $15,600+$15,400=$31,000
Alan: $14,600+$14,600=$29,200

Code: Select all

Cooper: 200 15600 15800 31400
Alan: 25000 14600 39600 54200
Jeff: 15000 19600 34600 54200
Alan: Your maximum is the same as Jeff's. Bet everything to keep in pace with him, and you'll win on a triple stumper if he does the same. If you're afraid of Cooper winning on a sole get, bet up to $8,199 to keep him locked out.
Jeff: Having a maximum even with Alan's, you might want to bet it all in case he does. But if you want to keep Cooper locked out, bet up to $3,199; you'll have a nonzero chance of winning on a triple stumper or a sole get by Cooper, whereas an all-in bet guarantees you'll lose under those circumstances.
Cooper: You still have a dog in the fight! If Jeff and Alan both bet it all, you can win on a sole get if you wager at least $9,201. Since you can't win if you're wrong, you might as well go for everything and improve your payday if you get it right and still lose. Otherwise, you can settle for a possible second by betting less than $800, so Jeff will fall behind you if he bets it all and is wrong.

What. A. Finish! Congrats Jeff (I could tell you were excited before they even got to you!) And Cooper and Alan definitely had the chops to perform excellently in this.

Too bad they aren't reading this, because those who refuse to watch the teens sure missed something!

That game was bananas. Very little trash to be had, and very few rebounds. Those kids knew their stuff.

I'll be honest, the teen tournaments from last year and this year have been, IMHO, two of the three best tournaments to watch over the last couple of years (with the BOTD being the third, far and away). The kids are smart and entertaining to watch, and they've been the beneficiary of some fun, rarely-seen results. Hope they can keep it up next year!

We need a smiley for a standing ovation! First thing I said when the episode started was that Jeff needed at least a 5k lead, so when I saw the scores at the end of DJ I was positively giddy. A final that lived up the expectations and more!

CONGRATULATIONS JEFF!!! And congrats to the challengers, they put on quite a show

Oh yeah, instaget FJ, tooeasyblahblahblahwhocaresitgaveusatie.

Congratulations, Jeff, on winning the Teen Tournament! What a spectacular finish! This tournament was lots of fun to watch.

Picked up Lach trash: cool, woe, Margaret Mead, Adult Contemporary

Instaget FJ. The tiebreaker clue was also an instaget for me.

Congrats Jeff!! That's the way a tourney should end. :)

Excellent jobs also by Alan for being right there at the end and Cooper for doubling up on the minimum after a disappointing 1st day.

It's a bit of 20/20 hindsight, but I would have liked to have seen a more difficult FJ question for a tournament with this quality of competitors. The sudden death question was a better choice, although not especially difficult either, especially for people who might have been more recently studying the Civil War than the average adult.

I've already done my flipping out on Twitter, but it's only fitting that the BEST season in Jeopardy history ends like this. Simply AMAZING!

That was one heck of a finale. Congrats to Jeff, and all of the finalists.

I agree with Leander, FJ! seemed a bit of a softball for the end of the tourney.

Congratulations, Jeff! Excellent job (but we expect no less from a JBoarder)! And quite the exciting finish. When they finished the round, I started doing the math in my head and was going "Waitasec ... this is going to be a tie if they both get it right."

Also a great job by Alan and Cooper as well. Huzzahs (not to be confused with bazingas) all around.

Wow! When I saw that Alan and Jeff were tied, I got a mega adrenaline rush. I was glad to see them all go big.
Congrats, Jeff! You were so fun to watch and I loved watching the reveal where you realized what was going on. Alan and Cooper were great, too.

Lach trash: cool, Tennessee Williams
And an instaget FJ comcludes my first perfecto ever!

Wow...I don't think that I can say anything that will do justice to how great a finals this was, and how great a tournament this was in general. I don't keep scores at home, so I had no idea of the significance of the scores going into FJ in this game. Imagine my surprise when Jeff's response brought his score up to Alan's! This was one of the best tournaments and maybe the best tournament finals that I have ever witnessed on the show. I was underwhelmed by the most recent college tournament, but this group of teens delivered. The boardies who refuse to watch the teen tournament truly missed out on witnessing something special.

Jeff, congrats to you on becoming a Jeopardy! Teen Tournament champion! It's always cool to see champions become boardies, but you are in a small and very select group who took the opposite route. Enjoy your victory, and best of luck to you in everything that you do! Also, congrats to the other 14 contestants. Y'all rock!

FJ was an instant get, but I couldn't help but think that it was too obvious and it might be the Nobel Prize for Medicine. Like Alex, I thought from Jeff's reaction that Jeff had missed the FJ. I was very happy to have been wrong!
