2014 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Round 1, Day 3
To those just tuning in, welcome.
Feel free to go back and play any days you haven't been spoiled on. It's (almost) never too late to join in the fun.
For those looking for scoreboard updates, the mods have graciously pinned a link to rjaguar3's website at the top of the main page.
We're up to 105 players, and if everybody sticks with us we'll be offering 7 TOC wild cards -- one for kids & teens, one for college students, one for rookies, one for ATB's, and 3 for high-scoring non-winners. If you're new, please review the rules and post your wild card eligibility in the thread. We want to give everybody the best chance we can to compete for the TOC.
Also, it has been confirmed that we will have 6 regular-season SHC weeks this year, which means the TOC field will be 19 (6 past champions plus 6 current champions plus 7 wild cards). The TOC will start on September 15. And if you think Art History was fun for you, wait till you see what the Writing Team is cooking up for them.
BWAHAHAhahahaha . . . .
Anyway, on with Day 3.

Re: 2014 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Round 1, Day 3
GOOD JOB, BRIAN
2: Brian Schmidt shared the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery that this property of the universe is accelerating.
4: Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie were both nominated for Oscars for this director's 1976 film Carrie.
6: Three years after discovering the band at the Cavern Club, this manager published “A Cellar Full of Noise: The Autobiography of the Man Who Made the Beatles.”
8: Brian Dennehy's second Tony Award was for playing James Tyrone in this drama for which Eugene O'Neil received a posthumous Pulitzer Prize.
10: This Canadian Prime Minister's approval rating was at 11% in a 1992 Gallup poll; all things considered, he may not fit the category.
GOING SOLO
3: He released “Maggie May” as a solo artist while he was also the lead singer of the band Faces.
6: “My Little Town,” which he wrote for and recorded with a former band mate, was also released on his solo album “Still Crazy After All These Years.”
9: After the breakup of Buffalo Springfield, he released a solo album called “Everybody Knows This is Nowhere” with a back-up band called Crazy Horse.
12: Before writing and producing the soundtrack to the movie Super Fly, he wrote and performed “People Get Ready” as lead singer of the Impressions.
15: In his best-known solo hit, this lead singer of The Drifters asks, “Does she love me with all her heart? Should I worry, when we're apart? It's a lover's question.”
