Your friendly scorer here.

Last night I lost my broadband connection and just got it back.

I'm still awaiting Dad's ruling, so please be patient.

Let's all wish Dad a speedy recovery - the SHC can wait.

I'll start official scoring now. Will try to post scores tonight - if not, tomorrow at the latest.

OFFICIAL ANSWERS
Spoiler
AMERICAN IDOL COVER ALBUMS

2: On the Season 4 album, Carrie Underwood sang this Martina McBride hit with the same name as a Will Smith alien invasion movie set on July 4th.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

4: Spelling counts in this Aretha Franklin originally written by Otis Redding and covered by Kelly Clarkson for Idol's Season 1 Greatest Moments album.

RESPECT

6: Chris Daughtry covered this Bon Jovi hit about a cowboy riding on a steel horse for Season Five's album Encores.

(WANTED) DEAD OR ALIVE

8: The final song on the Season 3 compilation album is the whole group singing this 1967 Marvin Gaye duet in which the singer promises to overcome any obstacle to be there.

AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH

10: Finally, this Etta James classic performed by Beyonce Knowles at Barack Obama's inaugural ball was covered by Julia DeMato on the Season 2 album.

AT LAST

ECONOMIC”S”

Each correct response will begin with "S"

3: Shares of this form of corporate equity ownership can be “common” or “preferred.”

STOCK

6: This type of economic good – such as teaching or house cleaning – is intangible, delivered by a particular provider, and usually involves performing a task rather than delivering a product.

SERVICE

9: This factor, a recognition of the limited nature of a resource, can lead to a shortage if demand gets high enough.

Going for SCARCITY, but it looks like SUPPLY works too, given the wording.

12: Sometimes called a “negative tax,” this form of payment without any expectation of production is most often made by governments.

SUBSIDY

15: This term was coined in the 1970's to describe a simultaneous rise in both inflation and unemployment rates.
