I don't know why not...

"Scooby-Doo is an American animated cartoon franchise, comprising several animated television series produced from 1969 to the present day. The original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, was created for Hanna-Barbera Productions by writers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears in 1969. This Saturday-morning cartoon series featured four teenagers—Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers—and their talking brown Great Dane[1] dog named Scooby-Doo, who solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures through a series of antics and missteps.[2]" - wikipedia
The simple fact that he talks (and the only thing that separates him from Dino) doesn't make him anthropomorphic. You wiki'd Scooby Doo, what does Wikipedia say about anthropomorphic?
an·thro·po·mor·phic adjective \ˌan(t)-thrə-pə-ˈmȯr-fik\
: described or thought of as being like human beings in appearance, behavior, etc.

: considering animals, objects, etc., as having human qualities

I'd say talking makes him anthropomorphic.

Now ihavejeoprosy can mark us wrong for not saying Scooby-Doo, Where Are you?, but not for not having a Hanna-Barbera connection, or not being anthropomorphic.
The note about the lack of Hanna-Barbera connection was for the answer above it, Underdog, not the one below it. His reasoning for the Scooby-Doo neg was in the question's intro. I don' agree with that ruling at all. I think Scooby-Doo is clearly anthropomorphic, he does a lot more than chuckle and express fear. He talks, with a speech impediment much like many humans. He also stands up on two legs pretty frequently, such as in this picture.

Image

I would also say that accepting "Scooby Doo" as the name of a show should clearly be acceptable. It is a frequently used nickname for any of the various Scooby shows, and there is even The Scooby-Doo Show, which was a packaging of reruns aired on ABC, title card pictured below. I would take Scooby as correct by any standards.

I dropped the question - don't see that listed anywhere - and therefore don't have a dog (sorry) in this fight, but not accepting Scooby-Doo... wow. I couldn't think of anything beyond Yogi Bear and Scooby-Doo, hence the drop, but was positive those would be correct. If you're going to make one of the most famous Hanna-Barbera cartoons a wrong answer like this you have to make the criteria 100% foolproof, which this was not.

Not that I have a vote, but I would have no problem with Scooby Doo accepted. And if requiring the full title would The Hair Bear Bunch then need more?

Nor me, and I held my breath on Grape Ape passing the anthropomorphic test.

Looks like we're all caught up with contestants and scoring. Lets head to question two before I jump back into debating the human qualities of Scooby Doo.

Is Mr. Ed, another animal who is differentiated from his brethren only by his ability to talk, also anthropomorphic?

Im not too familiar with the character, but I would say so, given his heightened level of sentience.

Wait, did anyone actually say Reese's Pieces? Because they don't have chocolate in them.

And did it bother anyone else that Mumbly, who was originally a hero detective, was made a villain for Laff-a-lympics?
Do you mean muttly? I used to love that show
Mumbly and Muttly were similar, but Mumbly was the captain of the Really Rottens: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mumbly_Cartoon_Show

Good catch. However, the article I used just lists Reeses as the most popular brand. Since pieces contribute to that reputation, I decided to allow it.

I read the article that you linked to, and it seems to specifically be talking about Reese's peanut butter cups, all sizes. I don't really see that it mentions Reese's Pieces nor, as whatisbishkek stated, should it.

Absolutely, Wilburrr. The definition is "animal or object having human qualities." Wouldn't you call a talking toaster anthropormorphic?

Scooby speaks in complete sentences. He participates in complex human conversation, clearly understanding what is being said.
