Here's a take on the Mike Richards Follies by conservative commentator Matt Walsh. He will demonstrate his tenuous grasp of the importance of credibility, fair play, and integrity in the game show industry.

Re: J! in the Media
I think that would be the right move, though there's always the risk of a Bro-gate 2.0. Do we know substantially everything about Ken's past boneheaded tone deaf comments? Have we really agreed to put them in the past or would appointing Ken as host cause the unhappiness about those comments to resurface and boil over? I still cringe when I think about the hot chick in a wheelchair comment. I hate that he said that and I hate that he never fully seemed to get what a crass douche-y comment it was. But I'm willing to leave that in the past because I think Ken can be a mensch going forward. The political comments I couldn't care less about AS LONG AS KEN UNDERSTANDS THAT THE AMBASSADOR FOR THE JEOPARDY! BRAND DOES NOT MAKE SUCH COMMENTS. I think he does.billiej wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 4:33 pm According to this, Ken is in front.

So I'm in favor of taking this risk because I think the positives are so positive. When Ken hosted for 6 weeks at the beginning of this year, it felt comfortable and right. It felt like the show was going on. Not a new show. Not even a reboot of the old show. The show. The one we love. The one Alex did. There's no point in having another round of guest hosts and having everyone get excited and riled up about all the possibilities. Tell Ken he can start tomorrow and we'll have our show back. He's not the host we deserve but he's the just deserts who can host. Or something. I never quite got the hang of that comment.

This and multiple other stories saying the same thing all have the same source: the former Hollywood Reporter editor. So I would treat it with caution at this point.billiej wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 4:33 pm According to this, Ken is in front.

Re: J! in the Media
For on-camera personality, I preferred Buzzy over Ken, but Ken did a wonderful job hosting. Nevertheless, count me among those really turned off by the KJ tweets, especially when he jeered at an "awful MAGA grandmother" grieving her deceased son. I have described those quips as "hateful," and even if his intent was purely comedic, there's a troubling mean-spiritedness behind it. If politics motivated him to punch down at such a target, that's wholly inappropriate in any mainstream host. Whether you're seating a table at Stuckey's, presiding over a Toastmasters meeting, or emceeing Jeopardy!, a host needs to embody hospitality. For some, his statements are just as objectionable and alienating as any Randumb remark from this week's poster boy for Hollywood Sleaze and Vapidity.opusthepenguin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 5:59 pm Have we really agreed to put them in the past or would appointing Ken as host cause the unhappiness about those comments to resurface and boil over? However, KJ owned his past mistakes, and his odd logic about leaving the Tweets out there to be "dunked on" seems well-meaning. If only as a precious symbol of continuity, he is invaluable to the J! brand, and I hope Sony understands that. He comported himself well over the last week, declaring himself "a Company Man," and, in time, KJ the consulting producer could gain enough familiarity with the logistics and infrastructure of the show one day to step into the EP role.

I'm a little right of center and Walsh is just an embarrassment. I see he's moved on from ranting about whether real adults can eat ketchup.squarekara wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:55 pm Here's a take on the Mike Richards Follies by conservative commentator Matt Walsh. I’m probably close to where you are. Idiots like this on the far right have pushed me closer to the middle the last four years. And I know there are yahoos on the far left, I just encounter them a lot less often.Ironhorse wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:06 amI'm a little right of center and Walsh is just an embarrassment. Never heard of this guy before and I lost brain cells just watching. Comparing this to Stalinist Russia was an insult to everyone who lived in Stalinist Russia.

I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Still wondering why Richards hasn't been ousted as EP. Andy Saunders quoted again:

Re: J! in the Media
Thankfully I've never heard of this guy before, and I hope I'll stop hearing of him soon. To me, Matt Walsh is one of the founders (with Amy Poehler) of the Upright Citizens Brigade theater, and he was Julia Louis-Dreyfus' press secretary on Veep. Of the 2, he's the only Matt Walsh who could possibly show up on J!...
