There's been a lot of speculation that MB is too busy to host J! on a permanent basis, but it sure sounds to me like she wants the job. I agree that her improvisational skills and acting background serve her well in this role.

It's odd that she doesn't mention her sitcom at all in that article...

Clearly she doesn't want to accidentally gain new viewers and have the thing be picked up for another year. :D

Is that a vote or a venting of spleen? I guess that's Gawker, and I suspect that the 3 references on that page to MB's support for Israel account for the tone more than anything...(Stated as an MB nonfan.)

The author states Mayim is destroying Jeopardy after watching one episode. One. That’s an instant loss of credibility. Also the fact Burton was mentioned as a serious candidate.

On the "good" side, she's still dismissive of him ;)

I stumbled across the piece and posted it for informational purposes only. It was not meant as an endorsement of the author’s views.

I’m still warming up to the idea of her as the permanent host. Her original performance is lost in the clutter of the parade of guests. I do remember enjoying her, but she wasn’t my favorite or even my favorite female host.

So did this person not watch her ten episodes from last spring? Seems like a big fan as the author claimed to be would have checked out at least some of each guest’s performances.

The Israel support comments rang a bell with me. I know it’s shocking an Orthodox Jew would support Israel. But unless she is making an issue of it on the show I don’t care. Would the author have said something if Bialik was pro-Palestine?

Never heard of either of the two she suggested as replacements.

Not really familiar with Gawker. Is this type of article typical of their output?

My understanding is that the new Gawker (2021-present) is very different from the original Gawker (2002-2016). The earlier Gawker was a gossipy muckraking website. They also used doxxing methods to unmask some notable anonymous people on the internet. They were shut down in 2016 because of a Hulk Hogan sex tape-related lawsuit.

It looks like Gawker relaunched in July of this year, this time as a publisher of op-eds (I think). That Jeopardy! article looks like absolute dunderheaded nonsense, but they also published a very good polemic against recent n+1 articles, so I wouldn't rule them out as a publisher of garbage just yet.
My lucky numbers are 6, 66, and 666.
