As I said in the game thread recently, although I prefer Ken, Mayim is a legitimate celebrity and brings her own fans to the show. Ken is only a celebrity to people who already watch jeopardy.

But to a prospective player, meeting Ken is the next best thing to meeting Alex. Meeting Mayim just doesn't resonate the same.

He has had other credits for a while now, I believe Sarah has as well. The others have disappeared, and I can't remember the last time I've seen the show use the term "Clue Crew" on the air.

These clues take time & money to produce, and some players stay away from known video categories as they take up game time that keeps getting cut due to commercial creep.

I would think he is still going to be around.

He probably hasn’t been recording for the Clue Crew for quite some time, I’d guess that yesterday’s Vegas clues were recorded the same time they recorded a NASCAR driver category from 2020. Probably around 2/23/2020 for the Pennzoil 400.

Ouch. The poor guy cost himself $21000 (minimum) and now gets ridiculed for it on a multinational news channel? That is rough.

Harry's basketball analogy is as wrong as the wager. Going for a two-pointer with two seconds left, when you need a 3-pointer to win, is a perfectly acceptable strategy.

CNN has no business whatsoever talking about his bad decisions. They need to STFU & STFD. :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Should it be changed to when you need a 3-pointer to tie? That might be more analogous to this situation anyway. (I don't follow basketball, so I might have this all wrong.)

If Steve had bet $13,599 and he and Ben both got it wrong, who do you think they'd say made a bad decision?

That's obviously what he had in mind, but not what came out of his mouth.

From "33 Behind-The-Scenes Game Show Secrets - BuzzFeed", which is basically just ripped off from this Reddit thread.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/hannahdobro/ga ... the-scenes
"I was a Jeopardy contestant in 2004 toward the end of Ken Jennings’ $2 million run. The day of my taping, there was a brief ceremony after the third game to officially award Ken a giant novelty check for his first million dollars. We broke for lunch, and Ken was ahead of me in line in the studio canteen. He was over the limit of his lunch voucher, so he put an item back. I blurted out, 'DUDE, you won a million dollars. Get the baked Lay's.' He didn’t have any cash on him, so the cashier combined our two vouchers, and Ken Jennings owes me 10 cents to this day."

"He ran the board during our game. I managed to answer 13 questions, whiffed on a Daily Double, and came in second. I spent my $2,000 winnings at Ikea, furnishing my new apartment. Alex didn't mingle during tapings, but before each game, he posed with contestants at the podium for a photo. I still have mine, along with the Jeopardy branded glass frame the show gave us."

"I was on the first US version of The Chase in 2014. The computers kept breaking down, so my episode took over four hours to shoot. It was exhausting, and I nearly passed out from standing under the lights that long. The host, Brooke Burns, on the other hand, was awesome. She hung out with us frequently during breaks and even remembered me when I appeared on a different show she hosted last year!"

Why do they only have one designated challenger for Friday's episode and two alternates? I thought they had one alternate in case there is an episode with no winner or in case of a Priscilla Ball/Claudia Corriere scenario.
