black-ish had players socially distanced when they played "Democracy Jeopardy!" as part of the "Election Special" 10/4 episodes.

You can barely see it underneath the D, but the title was actually Democracy *in* Jeopardy!. It was no doubt informative for many viewers, but alas, Andre read questions and the contestants answered, so not much of a parody... :geek:
Ah, thanks. Did not notice.

Former contestant Talia Lavin (best known for her "Turd Ferguson" FJ response) has a rather provocative book out.

It's a shame they didn't even plug her most excellent book about Jeopardy! at the end of the article.

Initially I was under the impression that if nobody makes it to FJ, that time would be filled by Scott Bakula playing the piano.

I hope the guy who was on the New Year’s Day game cuts the tape off as soon as FJ is over when showing it to family.

Ohh, TV Guide press deadlines!

If this had been the olden days, they might have snuck a correction/update into the local listings section (the black-and-white newsprint pages).

According to issue #4 of the Quantum Leap comic book, Dr. Sam Beckett was a 5-day Jeopardy champ. That story was written by legendary Jeopardy writer Steven Dorfman.

Al could be there with the archive feeding him the questions.

It's been a long time since I read the full story, but I do believe that Al helping with answers plays into things.

And to keep things on topic, I hear the new, January 2021 issue of Games World of Puzzles has a story in it about Jeopardy. I haven't seen one yet, so I can't say for sure.

I can confirm this.

I should add the article centers on the experiences of Becky Anderson, a 1xJ! Champ in 2009.

Alex also appears in their contest puzzle

Alas, the frame story year (1999) is five years too early for the Archive to be helpful

I did this interview with Claire McNear of The Ringer about her new book "Answers In The Form Of Questions" just before Sunday's sad news about Alex.

But his illness has been this moment of everybody realizing that, you know, perhaps he won't be the host of Jeopardy for decades to come. And so we should appreciate these episodes that we still have with him however many more years that lasts.
