I'm Going To Run A Theatre Based Auction: Any Jeopardy based items or skills?
So, for those of you who don't know already, I am a freelance theatre director and producer (I would show you all my website but it reveals my full name, so PM me please if you want to see it). My next project is coming up in February, I don't want to say the exact title in here, but if you look up the playwright Mike Bartlett, it's his four letter play. I'm looking to raise roughly $13,000-$15,000, and one way I was thinking of doing this is via auction. This is where possibly you come in. I'm looking for items or skills/services to possibly put on the auction, related to Jeopardy or Jeopardy contestants. Hypothetical examples could be a voiceover from Arthur Chu, a homemade moustache from Dr. J, someone hosting a private event, a flag designed by dhkendall, JeopardyBill reviewing a PhD application statement, the world is your oyster in terms of items. If anyone is interested, let me know in public or private what you could possibly be willing to put for auction. If you are not willing to put up an item for auction but contribute or donate in some other way, please let me know as well. Any and all help will be appreciated and valued beyond belief.

It's the date and time by which an event must be acccomplished-- but that's not important now!ElendilPickle wrote:What's the deadline?

If you just want me to read a voiceover or do a quick amateur video giving someone a shout-out that's fine. Just make sure you bug me about it because I'm not going to remember on my own.

What about snarky comments about one's gameplay or wagering? Surely those would draw a high price at auction?

How about a video of some of us watching a Jeopardy episode and making snarky comments ala MST3000?jeff6286 wrote:What about snarky comments about one's gameplay or wagering? Surely those would draw a high price at auction?

That could be pretty funny. Especially (no offense here) an Arthur Chu game (since he sets himself up so well as an anti-hero) or a Julia Collins game (because so many misunderestimated her).TheyCallMeMrKid wrote:How about a video of some of us watching a Jeopardy episode and making snarky comments ala MST3000?jeff6286 wrote:What about snarky comments about one's gameplay or wagering? I want to put up the auction in November or December so I'd like to know what the item is by then if you're interested. Otherwise, if it's a physical item just send it when able, if it's more of a service or skill, a mutually agreed time.ElendilPickle wrote:What's the deadline?

As proven by your lame power of recall displayed on your barely noticeable winning streak you mean?ArthurChu wrote:If you just want me to read a voiceover or do a quick amateur video giving someone a shout-out that's fine. I'll give you every copy of Timon of Athens I own.
Actually, I do have an old copy of The Jeopardy! Book, maybe that'll work.

If it's a lot of Timon of Athens copies, then that'd be nice.
Ben and Arthur, I'm going to PM you today.

I have several sparkly pipe cleaners left, as well as felt and Cheez-It boxes, so I can make a fake mustache if you'd like (could be modern Alex, classic Alex or handle-bar!). If you want more than one, just let me know! I also have Alex's genuine fake mustache (oxymoron?), but that's not leaving my hot little hand.

A fake moustache plus a print of your avatar photo would make a fun auction item.Dr. J wrote:I have several sparkly pipe cleaners left, as well as felt and Cheez-It boxes, so I can make a fake mustache if you'd like (could be modern Alex, classic Alex or handle-bar!). If Vermonter offered face-to-face (or Skype/Google Hangout) wagering tutoring, I'd be tempted to bid!
