TINY MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES

2: In Spencer's epic poem, Gloriana was the name of the queen of these creatures, described in other places as tiny magical beings with human form.

FAIRIES

4: This elf-like sprite gives its name to a style of haircut popularized by Dorothy Hamill.

PIXIE

6: From an Irish word meaning “small body,” this race of elves is believed to reveal hidden treasure to the one who catches it.

LEPRECHAUN

8: The Shetland Islands are said to be home to trows – shorter, uglier versions of this creature which gives its name to a fishing method.

TROLL

10: Svartalfheim is the realm of these creatures who, in Germanic mythology, are associated with mining and metallurgy.

Going for DWARVES. Wish I could BMS on elves, but can't. BLACK ELVES is good. KOBOLD also looks good.

MEEP MEEP (or BEEP BEEP)

6: A Britishism for good-bye, it was popularized in a 1941 BBC program.

9: This 1953 Cole Porter Broadway musical named for a French dance was condemned by Nikita Khrushchev for its raciness.

CAN CAN

12: The title of a 1960s book by Pauline Kael, it supposedly is Pacific island pidgin for a movie, especially of the Hollywood type; also the title of a 2005 movie with Robert Downey Jr.

KISS KISS BANG BANG

15: A young Chinese pianist, he performed at the 2008 summer Olympics and was termed "the hottest artist on the classical music planet" by the New York Times.

P.S.: If anyone has the urge to step in and do the scoring before I get the chance to, they are very welcome. (I don't want to pass it off at the last minute or anything, but I also feel bad for holding the game up for so long.) Again, I'm really sorry about this, and I'll get to both days as soon as I can.
