I liked that hint. Perhaps I need to include those hand-holding hints such as she was on a box of Wheaties and appeared on DWTS?econgator wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 10:52 pmThat's not a question.TenPoundHammer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 10:47 pm Nastia Liukin could belong to any country for all I know.

Ends in "sky" = Russian in the top row.TenPoundHammer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 8:58 pm[citation needed]
"Sounds X" is the worst type of TOM ever. That clearly didn't sound Russian to the three people onstage, so it was a clunker.

Re: The Official TPH Education Thread (POTENTIAL GAME DAY SPOILERS)
It's not the worst, but it is a clue. I didn't identify the name as Russian, either. I went with Polish, although Ukranian wouldn't be a bad guess. And I suspect that there are a couple of other countries in that region that are reasonable guesses for the name - Romania comes to mind.TenPoundHammer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 8:58 pm"Sounds X" is the worst type of TOM ever. Combine that with 5 medals in gymnastics and you're probably left with a toss up between Russia/USSR and Romania. (Which isn't Poland, but I didn't have 5 minutes to logic this out, only a couple of seconds.)
Of course, in the after-the-fact analysis, we learn that names ending in -sky are most likely Russian, and names ending in -ski are probably Polish. So that's one of my 3 things to learn today.
