Yes, I have seen Die Hard. (Let's just say more than once.)
No clue on Bandu or Newsom
I'm on the side of by 2015 instantly knowing without doubt or hesitation that Pony Express = St. Joseph.

Mon: World Cup was instant.
Tue: I got Die Hard in a few seconds.
Wed: I guessed Louisiana but Vermont instead of Maine.
Thu: I got Khrushchev pretty much instantly.
Fri: I got Ray Bradbury about 15 seconds in.
I got 169 clues right and 14 clues wrong for the week.

Mon - My brain totally checked out that night. I think it took me the whole 30 seconds to even read the question...
Wed - Louisiana and Wisconsin. (Eau Claire and Fond du Lac were on my mind)
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Would have been perfect on FJs if I hadn't overthought Wednesday and concluded that Louisiana was not one of the two states and that Haitian immigration might have pushed Florida ahead of it.

My knee jerk reaction to the Pony Express clue, given the category and $ value was St Louis. Had St Joe on the rebound.

Never heard of Bandu or Newsom

Sochi on Monday
Louisiana and Michigan on Wednesday
Thursday's FJ got spoiled on Twitter, so I don't know if I would've gotten it. I'm pretty lousy with world leaders, so I'm not giving any credit there
No idea Friday - I didn't know about Fahrenheit 911

I knew Thursday's clue was looking for a successor to an Axis leader, but I didn't realize Khrushchev had taken over so early and ended up WAGging Helmut Kohl. (Yes, I realize that's the German equivalent of the Gorbachev WAG.)

Some folks are apparently not filling out the survey completely. As of now, 58% say that they got Wednesday's FJ! correct, but only 55% say that Maine was part of their response.

Blanked on Michael Moore's films, though I've seen them...I'm surprised so many had doubts about Fahrenheit 451's authorship...
I was so mad when she said "similar to Jenga," I thought I had that one...

He did have that non-aggression pact with Hitler for a couple of years, but Stalin was never a member of the Axis. After Hitler invaded, he was definitely an Ally.

Louisana/Vermont

Never seen Die Hard, said St. Louis (and "ah, that's right" on reveal).
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

How is it that 60% of people got the French question right yet only 55% of people picked Maine as one of the two states?

Ugh.

I did hear about the World Cup taking place, but wouldn't have connected those dots without a lot more help....

NHO Bandu or Newsom.

I tend to scan clues to save time and, as a result, don't always process the entire clue -- in this case, I think all that registered was "Saint" + Missouri city + BLAH BLAH BLAH -> St. Louis.
(I do feel very confident in my knowledge of Pony Express -> St. Joseph; just disregarded that part of the clue entirely, apparently. )

Some people choose to participate in the poll by only voting on the FJ! clues and bypassing all the extra stuff which of course is their prerogative.

Giving myself a mulligan on Monday, wasn't watching the show live and had FJ spoiled. Think I would have gotten it, but who can say for sure? Remembered seeing some TV show about a town which was half in Vermont, half in Quebec, right down to sharing a library with a line on the floor denoting the border, so went with that over Maine.

The Joanna Newsom album is titled "Ys" (rhyming with "fleece"), not in all caps. And sorry for requesting an obscure one for the poll, but I needed some consolation for missing most of Thursday's game and that clue. Mark, she's got a San Francisco connection: she's semi-distantly related to Gavin.

I made the sports connection on Monday, but only got to Sochi, which didn't make sense with the clue. I guess multiple venues meant multiple sports, despite the absurdity of needing grass for the Winter Olympics.

Thursday I could only guess Castro, even though the year was a little early.

Never heard of Bandu.
