Dan Green, an administrative specialist from Orland, California
Jen Stoy, a technical writer from Hyattsville, Maryland
Scott Ylinen, a draftsman and college student from Morgantown, West Virginia (whose 1-day cash winnings total $22,505)
OPENING REMARKS
Alex: Thank you, Johnny Gilbert. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. If you want to do well on Jeopardy!, it helps if you have a certain level of self-confidence. At the end of yesterday's program, as I was saying goodbye to our seven-day champion, Greg Seroka, I said, "I'll look forward to seeing you again on our program in our Tournament of Champions," and Scott, our champion now who defeated Greg, said, "I look forward to seeing you then, also." So let's see if that confidence that he enjoys pays off in this game against Jen and Dan. Good luck, players. Here we go. What are the categories today? Show us...

CONTESTANT INTERVIEWS
Alex: There are very few places in the United States where there are no speed limits on our highways or freeways, but that's not the case in Europe, and Dan Green had an experience in Germany that I want to hear about.
Dan: I did, Alex. I, uh, took a rental car up to 160 miles an hour on the German Autobahn.
Alex: Wait a minute. You're sure it was 160 miles per hour and not kilometers?
Dan: I double checked to make sure. I don't even know how many kilometers it was. And the strangest thing was, uh, I got passed like I was standing still by a Porsche 959.
[Laughter]
Alex: Did it scare you?
Dan: A little bit.
Alex: A little bit, yeah, I bet.
Alex: Jen Stoy is a technical writer from Maryland who spent a year teaching in South Korea?
Jen: Yeah, that's right, South Korea. I was teaching English at an elementary school in Ansan, which is about an hour outside of Seoul, and I got to travel to Tokyo, I got to go to Australia, I got to go to Singapore. It was just a wonderful experience.
Alex: Good for you, and good for us in South Korea.
Alex: Scott Ylinen is our champion, ladies and gentlemen, and he is not only a bright young man who works with his brain, but he works with his hands. You're a woodworker.
Scott: That's right. I, uh, took up carpentry back--probably back when I was about 12 years old with my grandfather's old tools.
Alex: Are we talking about hand tools, now, or power tools?
Scott: You know, I started off with the power tools, but lately, I've been working a lot more with the hand tools, getting the old Stanley planes out and chisels and whackin' away at it.
Alex: It's fun, isn't it?
Scott: Oh, yeah.
Alex: Yeah.
