I (very foolishly) thought more people would go for the historical queens. Rats.

For once, I'm thankful that my instincts (don't pick the Queen Mother!) proved correct in this game.

I am also now realizing that I used sheep for one answer and didn't use drop, and drop is a better option. So, now I know.

6. This Barbie was part of a series inspired by collegiate cheerleaders:

Image

She is a cheerleader for Louisiana State University. LSU's team nickname is the Tigers. Name another school in NCAA Division I whose team nickname is the Tigers.

Originally, I was going to pair this with a cheerleader from Kentucky and ask for a school that was the Wildcats or the Tigers, but when I researched the question, I discovered that there were twelve schools other than LSU that are the Tigers and nearly as many that are the Wildcats.

I promised shocking singletons, and there is definitely one on this question.

Could be worse. I suffered a serious brain fart and put the wrong letter in front of Sainte-Chapelle.

Does TD have relegation, like European soccer leagues? If so, I might be demoted to a different board before long.

I guess that would make you Crystal Palace? (Someone out there explain the joke.)

Also, notice there are three Southeastern Conference teams who share the Tigers nickname. It's understandable that Missouri would cause an overlap, since they only came over from the Big 12 a few years ago, but LSU and Auburn have been in the SEC since it was founded in 1932, and were SoCon members prior to that. Georgia and Mississippi State share the same story with the Bulldogs name.

I propose a new rule: teams in the same conference can't share a nickname.

At least it's not a league of less than ten teams that tried for decades to fool us by having Roughriders and Rough Riders.

I can't say that having a team called the "Redblacks" is an improvement in that regard.

7. Barbie introduced a series of dolls inspired by the TV show "Dancing with the Stars:"

Image

Name a celebrity that has won "Dancing with the Stars." For a one point bonus, name their professional dance partner. (You must answer Question 7 correctly to receive the bonus.)

For a question with twenty possible correct answers, the sheep score was surprisingly high. The professional partner is in parentheses, and entries receiving the bonus are marked.

A fried chicken restaurant has been airing commercials starring Alfonso Ribeiro constantly over the last several weeks. If I knew anything about Dancing with the Stars, I would have known enough for a singleton.

Same here. I have a sinking feeling about the next one, since I only recognized only one of those vampires. :?

Buffy was not the sheep. In fact it wasn't that popular. Also, I'm a huge Buffy fan.

8. This Barbie is called Haunted Beauty Vampire Barbie:

Image

Name the one of the books and/or TV shows and/or movies where one can find the following fictional vampires:

A. Aidan Waite
B. Barnabas Collins
C. Caroline Forbes
D. Count Orlok
E. Count von Count
F. Darla
G. Deacon Frost
H. Eli*
I. Eric Northman
J. Henry Sturges
K. Louis de Pointe du Lac
L. Lucy Westerna

First, I just wanted to say that when I was writing this question, I made the decision in advance that there would be ABSOLUTELY NO TWILIGHT! I think Twilight is one of the worst things that ever happened to pop culture. It's bad enough that Bella's wedding dress was included in Question 1, but when I did a google image search for "Carolina Herrera gown," Bella's wedding dress was easily the most recognizable dress I could find. My apologies to Mark Barrett, I had intended to use Salem's Lot, which I've never read, but then I had twelve vampires before I got to it. Lots of surprises on this question. Blade and True Blood were both singletons, and my guilty pleasure, "The Vampire Diaries," was unused.
