The grass ones are delicious. They're also perfect for reenacting The Lawnmower Man (the story) in candy form.

I've only had them once, when they first came out. My mom was kind enough to get them for me and my brother for Christmas. I think the flavors were distinctive enough that most people would remember at least a couple.

But I agree. I'm sorry if you've never eaten them or seen the movies.

I think something went wonky in the database for the standings after the last question. dott888 got dropped from the standings entirely and and the other 6 bottom feeders are also incorrect, I believe?

It looks like barandall800 needs a score of 57 and the rest of the scores slide down one slot, i.e. magna has 58, econgator has 62, I have 63 etc.

Not that anyone probably cared/noticed, but here's the central conversation Armandillo and I had regarding this:

I spent a few years in a performing cast for Rocky Horror. Not only could I easily name these 12 characters, but I could also tell you that there are two other "named" characters: Father of the Bride, and A Bridesmaid. This caused confusion for me, because I couldn't figure out what the line was to come up with the 12 characters ... either we were talking about:

1) True "names", in which cases, "The Criminologist" doesn't count,
2) "Main" characters, which pretty much eliminates Ralph and Betty, or
3) Any character not generically labeled "A Transylvanian" or "A Wedding Goer", which includes the obscure two I listed above.

I just wanted to make sure I was obscure enough without accidentally going so obscure it wasn't on the list Armandillo was using. It wasn't until after I submitted my entry that I checked IMDB, and then the reasoning revealed itself: Father of the Bride and A Bridesmaid are not actually in the official credits. Apparently they are only known by lunatics like myself who have seen the show several hundred times, and the 12 characters are the only ones in the official credits.

Sometimes knowing *too* much is a bad thing too. :D

(PS: Dr. Scott's true full name is Everett Von Scott, and Betty's maiden name is Munroe ... and Betty is more well known nowadays as the co-host of Love It or List It ;) )

If you have pre-teen or teenage kids you would. They still sell them. I actually enjoy the black pepper ones.

For the record, I've never read a Stephen King book. My American Lit professor in college called King "the literary equivalent of a Big Mac and fries".

I also barely knew of the existence of those jelly beans. Were they really that big that people would know the flavors?

I have a 13 year old son, actually. He just doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. (Before you congratulate me, he's all about chips and pretzels and such instead~)

I did see the first movie, but the jelly beans didn't stick out for me. I do recognize that Harry Potter is enough of a pop culture thing that I should know some basics about it. -shrug-

I imagine they could sell a lot of some of those odd flavors, if they were sold separately (e.g., all grass flavored, pepper flavored, etc.) Except maybe booger. Who would pay money for something booger flavored?

Like a Frankingstein that's just been brought to life, I'm shocked!

Getting my best finish ever goes a long way toward assuaging my guilt over forgetting about Renfield as a Tom Waits fan.

Thank you, Armandillo! This was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to your next TD, whether it's Arbor Day or next Halloween.

And of course, congratulations to Peggles, quarterrican, and everybody else who survived the experience!
