Holy shit can you believe the ignorance here? I'm pretty sure you meant "into what is a non-issue". Can't wait to hear the explanation for that one.Vanya wrote:What I protest is Robert KS bringing his bullshit bias into a what is non-issue, and using it as an excuse to trash Murdoch and Fox News (not that I care what Fox News does, either). He should stand by his opinion and cancel his subscription to National Geographic, and stop watching Jeopardy!.

Thoughts:
1. All casual fans and even many hardcore fans are dimly aware at best that this partnership even exists.
2. Robert should have known that this thread would get people riled up for no real reason. He could have no effect on TPTB's decision even if he were right.
3. The Simpsons in its prime was not at all stupid.
4. Sony is no better or purer a corporation than Fox as far as I can tell.
5. I would prefer that JBoard remain nudity-free.

[Mod Hat]But yes I would prefer it that way as well, since several of us access at work, SFW is at least the goal, and, like it or not, tat doesn't pass the SFW test.
From the registration agreement as well:
"Obscene"? Well I won't get into that debate (I prefer the "obscenity is whatever gives a judge an erection" quote). Sexually-oriented? Maybe, but this is more "naturist magazine" than "Hustler". Is female toplessness in public against the law in the United States? For sure (again, better or worse). Regardless, it also looks like a deliberate provocation, while it may not break any laws, it's flaunting that it is.You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “JBoard.tv” is hosted or International Law.
Oh, wait, it does break one law. Wheaton's Law. That should be the guiding principle of jboard posts (it is what masked this place tolerable), and should be removed as a violation of Wheaton's Law imho. [/Mod Hat]
EDIT: and holy carp I didn't even notice the age of the girl in the picture but imho just as wrong no matter the age. It's just now there's illegality involved too as was pointed out.

Depends on location. It's legal in NYC, for one high profile example.dhkendall wrote: Is female toplessness in public against the law in the United States? For sure (again, better or worse).
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I'm inclined to believe that NatGeo will start publishing anti-climate change propaganda sometime soon.

I don't know what current law is of posting historical pictures of bare-breasted minor girls on your website. I doubt alietr wants to find out.

I think one has to be seriously sick to classify said picture as pornography. Those are the people I'd want reported when they move to my neighborhood.Rafferty Barnes wrote:I don't know what current law is of posting historical pictures of bare-breasted minor girls on your website. Keep it kid-friendly, por favor. Just because the other kids at my school are interested in that sort of thing doesn't mean I am.

Seriously? A National Geographic (-like?) picture is not kid-friendly? You scare me.arjavrawal wrote: Keep it kid-friendly, por favor. Just because the other kids at my school are interested in that sort of thing doesn't mean I am.

It's not kid-friendly if it contains nudity, does it?gnash wrote:Seriously? A National Geographic (-like?) picture is not kid-friendly? You scare me.arjavrawal wrote: Keep it kid-friendly, por favor. Just because the other kids at my school are interested in that sort of thing doesn't mean I am.

Sixthed, because context matters. There's a huge difference between the image in its original published context and it being used here to continue a sustained pattern of aggressive behavior toward other jboard users, a large number of whom are women.
Also, a reminder that there is a lovely option to add a user to your foe list so you don't have to be subject to their presence on a regular basis.

Two bits the only reason Vanya put that photo up is so he could later crow about censorship by the "liberals" here.
