Can't believe the Richie Valens question. Damn auto-correct. I usually double check answers (for this reason), but this one slipped by. C'est la vie.

I can't believe I'm not in last place after that. But I can explain! Sort of.

I sat on these answers for almost as long as possible, feeling like something wasn't quite right, but it wasn't until 16 hours after I submitted that my brain finally coughed up "Gilbert and Sullivan." Every single answer I had written down for question 9 was by G&S.

Also, I really thought Joan Rivers would be in the top 15 of that list -- I'm glad I avoided her for being too obvious.

I thought Seinfeld would sheep for sure.

Dangerfield and Letterman crossed my mind but I didn't think they would be that high on the list.
Being a stand-up comic was such a small part of Letterman's career, if you don't count his blasse monologues.
And Dangerfield wasn't very well known before he made Caddyshack. He'd probably be all but forgotten by now if it weren't for that movie.

Wasn't sure Lenny Bruce would make the cut, so went with Carlin. IMHO the sheep score is worth it! :D

Ulysses S. Grant: In 1880 he didn't get the Republican Party's nomination
Ford Gerald Ford: In 1980 tried to run but didn't gain enough traction

Yes, the total adds up to less than the 11 choices claimed in the question. I had to remove presidents who ran for re-election, to (hopefully) avoid any confusion on the wording.

Here comes the bonus question!!

Bonus Question!

The Grammy question you almost unanimously hated (and which made me throw it out). If you got it correct, I subtracted 5 points from your score!

The lucky few are: (because it's not a normal question, there is no sheep penalty)
ElendilPickle - Bela Fleck
patkav - Joni Mitchell
Holocene Hero - Les Paul
DefCon4 - Les Paul

My apologies. I fixed it and redid the rankings since I apparently am terrible at math :/

Bwahahahahaha, I couldn't have guessed a worse answer.
I knew Teddy R was a correct answer but it was the only one I was sure about. No way I was gonna go with that sheep. Figured I had about a 1 in 4 chance on any guess.

Thanks for an interesting game.

Thank you! And thanks for running this TD. I'm still amazed I didn't end up in last place after that start (well, that middle, actually).

Congrats to ihavejeoprosy and everyone who did well!

It's been a bad week for Teddy Roosevelt trivia...

But thanks for running it! Only my second one of these, and I did better than the last time.

Thanks for the quiz. I did much better than I expected, considering on several questions I only knew one or two answers. Except the R&H one- I knew all of them, and still did not get a singleton!

It doesn't really matter, but the presidents question asked about presidents who "ran" for office. Ford considered running in 1980 but never actually jumped in.
