Jeopardy! drinking game
There's been some mentions of Alex's cliches and other recurring themes on the show being turned into drinking games in recent threads (mostly by me, admittedly). How about we put them all in one place? I am going to start by only listing things Alex says, but feel free to add whatever. Also, feel free to assign drink amounts appropriate to your own preferences.
"The writers were being cute on that one"
"...and [contestant x] isn't going to try to ring in with [TS]"
"and you're out of the hole!"
"let's go somewhere else"
"well done, young lady!"
"no harm, no foul"
[anything with a Russian accent]
"looks like someone is going to win a lot of money"
"good for you" (contestant interviews)
"[contestant x] couldn't be caught"
[reference to his love of Iguazu Falls]
[reference to his love of Frank Sinatra]
[reference to his Canadianness]
"that clue/those clues will remain hidden"
"Final Jeopardy! category is...[category]. Good subject!"
"many of our contestants are collectors, as is [contestant x]"
"grab those signaling devices"
over to you, boardies.

"Oh! You picked the wrong one." Most of the time he says that I didn't know the wrong answer or the right answer, so the implication that everyone has the two possible answers in mind and is doing a mental coin toss cracks me up.

When Alex is reading the categories and says, "[category name with a question mark at the end indicating that the writers are being cute and making things up that could fit in the category if they actually existed]? I don't know..."

When the FJ! wagers are revealed and Alex calls one contestant's wager "interesting."

Or "savvy", such as the case where the leader made the MSB.The Talking Mime wrote:When the FJ! wagers are revealed and Alex calls one contestant's wager "interesting."

"Let's go to work" (when the Jeopardy board is first revealed)
"He/she's the one" (after a correct answer)

If in the open, Alex welcomes us to "another half hour of answers and questions."

Well if you really want to get a fast start to the drinking, chug one whenever Johnny says "this is Jeopardy"mfc248 wrote:If in the open, Alex welcomes us to "another half hour of answers and questions."

Or at closing, referencing the twenty-three and a half hour break between shows.mfc248 wrote:If in the open, Alex welcomes us to "another half hour of answers and questions."
I'll also add whenever Alex approves an answer by referencing the category. STATE CAPITALS: "That's the state capital." FAMOUS GEORGES: "He's the George we were looking for."

After a missed DD: "Oh, boo, hiss"
Old pop culture: "I guess that was before your time" (alt: "I guess you're all too young to remember [TS]")
During a tournament: "two-day total-point affair"
On a strong champ's streak: "Is it too early to mention the name 'Ken Jennings'?"
With big scores: "I have a feeling somebody is going to [make a lot of money][wind up with a huge payday] today"

On a stand-and-stare clue, when he says "It was the famous...". How famous can it be if three people smart enough to get on the show don't know it?
When third place is way behind and the other two are very close and he says third has a chance because the other two have to guard against each other in their betting.
When he spoils the previous day's FJ in his opening comments.

I think that more people should try Liz Fritz's #Jeoparty rulesets that she posts from time to time on Twitter (which got an interesting signal boost this week from various news stories).
