Three winners in one semi-final? Does that ever happen? Including probably the two sharpest contestants, no less? Weird.

Perhaps they wanted to play up the Cal-Stanford rivalry???

Did it seem like the camera work was way faster today? The FJ! pan seemed whiplash inducing.

This board seemed very obscure for a college tourney in my opinion.

I knew Lost Symbol entirely because I remember it stumping me on Wheel before.

Nothing was remotely familiar in that TV category.

I needed only the picture for Stan Lee, surprisingly.

Royalty? Yeah, I have no shot in hell here... wait, King James Bible was special... James? King James? I apparently didn't need the roman numeral, but if pressed I'm sure I'd have gone with I.

Loved the champ's reaction.

Color me shocked that Niki was not negged. Oh wait, don't. They don't require specificity in anything any more.

By definition, isn't simply James correct considering he was the first and therefore needs no clarification? Obviously if the answer was James II then simply James would be wrong.

Great wagering in FJ from the kiddos, cool to see the pure joy upon winning.

Pulled the final out of my butt on this one.

With the year listed as 1604, I figured it was close enough to the founding of Jamestown, and why not name it after the king.

Lucky I put James I as I had no idea on the number.

Congrats to Niki on becoming a finalist. All three contestants played well. I had 36 correct responses including these triple stumpers: chair, Princeton, America's Cup, Java, Kent, Seward Peninsula, and sirocco. I also got FJ.

I went with King James without roman numerals and just prayed he was the first.

Did the lack of a true daily double on Sinai end up mattering by the end of DJ?

Very sharp group, and some tougher questions thrown in the mix.

Sad to see Emily go and sad that she didn't get to buzz in on the clue about our school.

No, she left $1200 behind.

Couldn't figure out what this special project could be (even though the year should've been a dead giveaway), so I just broke it down to "who was king in 1604?", got the right answer, and THEN it made sense. Not my best FJ work, but I'll take it.

I think Emily only left $1200 behind, so it wouldn't have put her into the lead at the end of DJ.

Did not make the Bible connection at all - but 1604 did give me the Union of the Crowns, and from there I was able to recall James I (VI of Scotland) getting it down just before time ran out.

Once again, Niki is retweeting the detractors. I was rooting for her tonight - even more so after learning on Live Panel yesterday that she played the tournament with a terrible flu.

Really, really impressive game for all three. Slightly surprised they didn't need the number on FJ.

I knew it wasn't J!-favorite Henry VIII and thought of James because of the year, but some jerk blurted out James before I had a chance to settle on him on my own. The week's off to a great start.

These semifinal matchups are completely baffling.

I am so glad twitter didn't exist in 1995.

I would not have accepted just James, but it isn't my call.

Really rooting for Niki now just to annoy the Twitter idiots.

I just don't understand the reasoning behind this. Granted, she's very young, and I'll cop to disliking her because of her loud pouting after negging, but is retweeting supposed to "shame" her haters? Demonstrate how awful the internet is? Rub the haters' face in the fact she won? Anyone who's in the public eye will always get hate their way, for any and every reason, and often, grotesquely. Don't get why you'd dwell on this.
