The Boeing 747, the original "jumbo jet" that made its debut in January 1969, will take its final commercial flight on a U.S. carrier on December 19, flying from Seoul to Detroit. Several foreign carriers will continue to fly the 747:

The Los Angeles Lakers retired Kobe Bryant's uniform numbers. Yes, "numbers", plural. He originally wore #8. Midway through his career, he switched to #24, and had comparable statistics with each number:

Ringo Starr will join Paul McCartney as a Knight of the British Empire. All four Beatles were named Members of the British Empire in 1966.

My final comment on the election is this fun fact: Based on write-ins, Nick Saban came in third.

Like you, Saban is "also receiving votes".

I find it interesting that in Alabama, write-ins are counted only if the total number of write-ins exceeds the margin of victory.

In my home state of Michigan, write-ins are not counted unless cast for a candidate who had filed a Declaration of Write-In Candidacy. Which means no more votes for Disney characters.

Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 on NBC

Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!

Jesus: John Legend
King Herod: Alice Cooper

That already makes it better than that A Christmas Story: Live that Fox aired two days ago.

Unless National Lampoon is producing the show, I'll bet that Herod won't be singing "No More Mister Nice Guy" after he orders the Slaughter Of The Innocents.

Per AP, Papa John, aka John Schnatter, aka that freaking guy, is stepping down as CEO of Papa John's.

Edit: Huh. The forum embeds tweets. Did we know that? I didn't know that...

It’s the airplane novel completist’s version of a marathon runner collapsing in the last mile of the race.

26 miles in the alphabet, 26 miles in the marathon. Synergy.
