Both Danson responses did come in after the clarification went up, so neg-ing it does seem okay to me and yes, I do think dropping the whole first question is the fairest thing to do (would anyone object to that? I haven't run the full scores yet, so I don't know if it'd affect the final standings at all)

There's a lesson here for me: read the *&$%ing clarifications!

I'm cool with dropping the first question.

3. FAMOUS TITLES

Connery: “The day is mine! I’ll take Famous T*tties for $400”
Trebek: “Titles. Famous Titles”
Connery: “Damn!”
Trebek: “And the answer is… This movie title is taken from the book Gone With The Wind. Mr Connery”
Connery: “Dolly Parton!”
Trebek: “Titles, Mr. Connery, not t*tties”
Connery: “Not a fan of the ladies, are you Trebek?”

As I said in my submission, Catch-18 was the only one I knew. I had an inkling that Chronic might be The Time Machine and jokingly thought about Jaws, not realizing it would have been correct, but would never have come up with any of the others.

As to dropping #1, I'm fine with whatever is decided.

4. THE PEN IS MIGHTIER

Sean Connery: I've got to ask you about the Penis Mightier.
Alex Trebek: What? No. No, no, that is The Pen is Mightier.
Sean Connery: Gussy it up however you want, Trebek. What matters is does it work? Will it really mighty my penis, man?
Alex Trebek: It's not a product, Mr. Connery.
Sean Connery: Because I've ordered devices like that before - wasted a pretty penny, I don't mind telling you. And if The Penis Mightier works, I'll order a dozen.
Alex Trebek: It's not a Penis Mightier, Mr. Connery. There's no such thing!
Nicholas Cage: Wait, wait, wait.. are you selling Penis Mightiers?
Alex Trebek: No! No, I'm not.
Sean Connery: Well, you're sitting on a gold mine, Trebek!

Name a War/series of Wars ended by a Treaty of Paris, or the year associated with any of these 21 treaties

The Treaties Of Paris is something used a few times on J!, most notably in these two episodes:
http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=279
http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=1310
(I remember the second one being amusing… if something like that happened today, it would probably quickly end up on Youtube)

A number of negs here, most to wars ended by Treaties of Versailles (the more famous one happened to be the "trick" clue in that second J! game referenced above) Sorry, I hope the question was specific enough to suggest it was just Treaties of Paris, excluding anything named "Treaty of Versailles"? I guess WWI is trickier, in that (and I did not know this before) there were a series of treaties signed with the various combatants at the Paris Peace Conference, the Treaty Of Versailles (with Germany) being the most famous. None of these treaties were named "Treaty of Paris", however. I would assume, though, that "Treaty of Paris" would have been ruled incorrect for WWI in that J! game, and I think the question was specific enough to exclude WWI as an answer.

Arrgh! I thought that Jaws would be the sheep on question three, so I went for safety.

And for question two... No one else went for John Larroquette? The guy who asked to not be nominated for best supporting in a comedy because he won four years in a row? "Night Court" overlapped with Cheers. Done. Grammer had to have been nominated as Frazier on Cheers during that time period.

He had to have been nominated and won. The criteria was twofold: either name someone who lost to Grammer or someone Grammer lost to. Like the Danson one, they could've been nominated at the same time but neither won.

(Also: thanks for running that question. I had planned on using, well, basically the same thing but after realizing how much a pain it is to clarify I'll be tweaking the one I'm writing.)

Nuts! I would have had 3 singletons so far (Ray Romano, East of Eden, French and Indian War). Only after reading a biography of Peter the Great (contemporary of Louis XIV, who built the palace at Versailles) did I learn Versailles is outside of Paris.

Yeah, in retrospect, it might've been easier to just have it be people who were nominated in the same year, though I thought that would open up too many possibilities. The only incorrect answer that would have become correct using that criteria, as it turns out, was Danson, and that would only be because of the "oddity" of Grammer's "Wings" nomination. That nomination seems really wrong to me anyways, with Grammer only appearing on one episode of Wings, yet qualifying for "Best Lead Actor". It seems that there was no "Outstanding Guest Actor" award in 1992, which is I guess why Grammer was put in the Best Actor category instead (with actors technically being nominated for performance in a single episode).

OK, confession time: how many of us here answered 1815 because s/he forgot that the War of 1812 was ended by the Treaty of Ghent, not a Treaty of Paris?

OK, how many of *you* forgot what year the Revolutionary War ended, more than likely conflated it with the French Revolution (I doubt any treaties were signed in Paris that year, at least not after July 14), and just (re-)read about the 1783 Treaty of Paris (complete with year) in an article you yourself wrote several years ago!

5. CONDIMENTS
Name one of the 20 Best-selling condiments

Burt Reynolds: Yeah, I’ll take the, uh, condom thing for 8000
Alex Trebek: That’s Condiments, for 400

I guess George Costanza was right about Salsa becoming more popular than Ketchup (a point a couple entrants noted). As a Canadian, there are many brands on here I had not previously heard of, but I will say I’m surprised at how much mayo you folks seem to use! “Heinz 57” was given as an answer… it appears that there is a steak sauce with that name, but I guessed that referred to the ketchup (the latter appears on the list, the former does not) so included that submission with what would be the mild sheep.
