國父 - Bonus 2. For -2 points, name the “Founding Father” of Taiwan. Same note from question 9 re: answer format applies here. (N.B. You are eligible for this bonus even if you FLEE or UNITE on Question 9.)
The founding father of Taiwan (i.e., the Republic of China) is Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
I have never heard of Sun Yat-sen referred to as the "Founding Father of Taiwan." The Republic of China was never restricted to the island of Taiwan during Sun's lifetime, and the Brittanica article you link to doesn't even mention Taiwan. I just wonder why the parenthetical in the reveal (i.e. the Republic of China) was not in the original question. If it had been, I would have gotten the bonus for sure.

Not a complaint, especially since I'm at the top of the standings, just an observation about the confusing phrasing of the question. I suppose I could have asked for clarification, but I thought it was pretty obvious that Chiang Kai-shek founded the Republic of China as it exists on the island of Taiwan.
I agree that adding the parenthetical in the question would have helped; if I were to re-write the question, I would've thrown in a hint to the effect of 'this man is not one of the seven Presidents of Taiwan in Question 9' and/or added a picture. That said, I didn't think this would cause confusion. The same way 'Hawaii' is usually interpreted as the state and not as the Big Island, I thought 'Taiwan' would be interpreted as 'Republic of China' and not as 'the island of Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa.'

While Chiang Kai-shek did establish the existence of the ROC on the island of Taiwan, I do believe Sun Yat-sen is still regarded as the ROC's Founding Father. An example that comes to mind is the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei: its Chinese name is 國父紀念館, which translates literally as "Memorial Hall of the Nation's Father." Sun's portrait also hangs in public buildings (this article also refers to Sun as the "founding father").

This all said, I do acknowledge that adding the parenthetical in the question would have allayed these concerns somewhat (if not entirely). Apologies to those who missed out on Bonus #2 because of this.

SCORING NOTE: Please reply/PM with objections to this scoring by 5 PM PST, February 11th. Final standings will be posted at (or shortly after) that time.

Had I been playing this TD, I surely would have used UNITE/FLEE on this question. Props to those entrants who were able to come up with a correct answer--only five of the twenty-three possible answers were given.
11. 成龍 - JACKIE CHAN. [23 possible answers] A few months ago, Jackie Chan became the first Chinese actor to receive an honorary Oscar. According to the Academy President, “[t]he Honorary Award was created for artists like Jackie Chan, [...] – true pioneers and legends in their crafts.” Since the first Governors Awards ceremony in 2009, the Academy has presented the Academy Honorary Award to 24 people, including Jackie. Excluding Jackie Chan, name a recipient of the Academy Honorary Award between the years of 2009 and 2016, inclusive. (N.B. Last name only will be accepted.)
