1600 Pennsylvania Ave, but I thought it was a weak clue. I guessed "2008", though I got the "keeping it a hundred" reference afterwards.
Yeah, I got 3/4 of the numbers with 2016 (as in we want to keep things like they were in 2016).
I clammed, but that was the direction I was going. I couldn't decide which year they would want to be keeping it.
I did not know Fitzgerald was born in Minnesota and the photograph wasn't any help. Apparently his birthplace is fairly well known so at least I learned something.
I didn't think that Lincoln FJ was that tough. The players did make the Lincoln connection and the player saying it was his first wife wasn't that far off the mark. Granted, I did say Rutherford in today's game.
grindcore wrote:Apparently this was a laughably easy FJ. If yall say so I guess. I threw a dart and said John the baptist.
It is, I predict at least 90% on the poll.
It's certainly a very easy 'Bible' question, but is it easy even for people who know nothing about The Bible? I wouldn't be surprised to see this one come in north of 90%, but that seems high.
Bonnie was bold in her wagering. Nice. Too bad she ran into a buzzsaw.
Hmm...has anyone ever responded to a QUESTIONS category without using "What is" (Except of course, clues like Bohemian Rhapsody which isn't already a question)?

I was very impressed at her get on $2000, I was not expecting her to get that (I wasn't expecting me to either, but I got it. I could go into explaining for the benefit of people like TPH and morbeedo that I got it from remembering Patrice Lumumba being a seminal political figure in the DRC but that's TOC-level knowledge, anyone getting it in a regular game deserves kudos. Mark, can I request a poll on that one?)
As so often happens, I'd say that clue was easier than the one before it, Kadima, because of the historical resonance of the name Lumumba.
Which would explain why Kadima was my only miss in the category.

I mean, I know J-level bible stories, like buddy that got his hair cut was Samson, buddy who sentenced Jesus to death was Pontius Pilate, but are there actual stories of Paul in those books going around doing missionary things? Or is it just that his letters to the Corinthians etc are adapted into bible books and the content is not about him?
rpg wrote:Am I the only one who negged the Minnesota author clue with Sinclair Lewis instead of Fitzgerald? The story mentioned in the clue seems to be pretty obscure so I don't think anyone's getting it on that. I guess you're supposed to know what they look like and get it based on that? I'm not seeing any other (reasonable) way to get it unless I missed something in the clue.
(edit: reviewing it again I see they mentioned that the author was born in St. Paul, so I guess that's another avenue)
I went with Lewis as well, knowing I was wrong (Sauk Centre - there's a park/museum near the highway). I'm conditioned to associate Lewis with Minnesota just like Faulkner with Mississippi or Steinbeck with California.
No clue on FJ whatsoever. It referenced missionary work, so I went with Dr. William Masters.

Pretty much the latter, but also the former too. The epistles are apparently just a word for word reprint of letters Paul wrote to churches he planted, but he does mention some missionarying in them. However, in the book of Acts, that's a lot of the retelling by a third party (Luke) of his missionary journeys.

You are not the only one. Went with lewis too.
Also NHO of Kadima and whatever the DRC clue was...reality shows? - not as easy for me. No get on Tycoon.
That FJ clue from 20 years ago - Nasty!
Hi, I'm new here so I'm just wondering... How often are these "Game Recap & Discussion" posts updated? I've been looking for the list of all the answers and clues from the program on Monday, March 13, 2013. I'd like all the clues and answers for the "Podcasts" category in DJ. Thank you.

That was a Wednesday, and there was no PODCASTS category that day. Here is the only game in J! Archive with such a category in DJ.

Or, alternatively, you can find the relevant episode on Youtube (which I just did; took 5 seconds), and simply record the clues and questions yourself.
Instaget FJ for this Jewish woman, thanks to the reading from "the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians," that I've heard at almost every non-Jewish wedding I've attended. And after re-reading it just now, I'm wondering if my Rabbi would have any issues if it was read at my wedding...?

Why not? Paul was "circumcised on the eighth day, a member of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee" (Paul's own words from the New Testament book of Philippians).
