10/10 for the tournament.
I knew "pragmatism" but couldn't come up with the word, clammed on "Poitier," and was still thinking about the DD when the contestant answered.
No precall Wednesday.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Well, between this week and last week, I now have a new reason to hate Mondays...although, not too harshly so, for I was born on a Monday. But still, grr arrgh.

In addition to going with radio for the Monday FJ, I also went with utilitarianism for pragmatism.

Precalled "Reconstruction."

How could someone count a response other than telegram or telegraph as correct for Monday's FJ?

Still couldn't get my first 5/5. Will it ever happen?

I counted wire as correct for Monday. Wikipedia ( ) says it's "an informal term for a telegraph, or the act of using a telegraph".

Detroit on Friday. Ouch!
Six Degrees of Separation is currently on Broadway with Allison Janney and Corey Hawkins, the star of the recent 24: Legacy. The movie with Will Smith also is very much worth seeing.
Antalya sounds like Anatolya. Worth a shot!

I totally blanked on Friday, not getting to the idea that a cataclysmic event could lower population (I was only thinking of migration and birth rate, rather than death and evacuation). And I said Industrial Revolution on Wednesday out of desperation (although of course that was going on in Lincoln's lifetime).

I said utilitarianism. I was hoping that there would only be a poll question about giving that incorrect response, without the clue being one of the extra three.

My thinking was it would be fun to see how much higher the neg rate was from the get rate. At least you weren't one of those who got burned by its inclusion and losing an 8-smiley week.

My first

week ever! Now, if I can only do it in a regular week of Adult Jeopardy, where the questions and FJs aren't barely above College Jeopardy level...
