1/5. Ack!
A message board for fans of the Jeopardy! television show. MinnesotaMyron is our JBoardie of the Month!

I have the exact score so I will quote this victim. I'm a newbie and singletons are new to me. Glad to see the "rational" clue quoted, I Pavloved right to "composite" and didn't analyze the question, mostly thinking that was difficult enough to merit the clue (i forget the box value). This is a reverse definition to me, and kudos to the writers for making us stumble.
That's never happened before in the history of JBoard (the closest being the 18% get on Henry James in the same week as the flight simulator goose egg). MarkBarrett has posted previously that the week of 9/25/06 contained two of the all-time toughest FJs:

Seeing as how it's polling 15%, I stand by comment. And that is how it was a TS.alietr wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2017 12:25 pmI'm guessing this isn't going to poll more than 30% given what I've been hearing people saying so you may be a bit off base with your declaration. I'm not sure how you got it, but I wasn't surprised at all that it was a TS. I would have answered Inherit the Wind as others did. If I could remember the title in 30 seconds. Was totally blanking on the title though. Hey, it was late, I was tired ...
Point taken! But it still surprises me. I mean, it shouldn't because I've commented that folks around here have a lot of knowledge in a wealth of subjects, but the collective Achilles Heel seems to be movies. It's one of the easiest categories in which to become readily conversant, thanks to TCM, but resistance is strong here.alietr wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 10:56 am From Wednesday's thread:

Yes...but no. I mean, I've had a 400+ disc Netflix queue since I first signed up with them over a decade ago (and this is on top of the streaming one). Heck, I didn't even realize they made a film adaptation of that and film is not one of my weaker subjects. There's just SO MANY.Elijah Baley wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2017 6:28 pmPoint taken! Except that it really depends on what you have in your 400 movie queue at Netflix. The beauty of TCM - in my opinion - is that you're getting a pretty wide breadth of movies. And I'm not saying that you have to quit your job, stay home and watch TCM, but keeping in mind that Alex is a huge movie buff - and appeared at a TCM celebration of Robert Osborne's life - it's a an easy way to study a fun category that is going to keep showing up.Volante wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2017 7:17 pmYes...but no.
